Pretty boring "race" tho, sorry to say
McFadden & Zearfoss had a short lived duel in one of the heats, that was about it....
At least nobody got hurt....

Fraker and Wormall (sp?) had the second best battle all night. Pretty predictable outcome given Starks got a couple yellows and had to deal with very little lap traffic. Only chance at that point was on restarts and Trout looked awful on restarts.
I will give the track crew props for getting mositure in the track. I was really expecting dust and rubber in the heats with both 410s and 358s. Now if we can just steal the damn water truck keys once hot laps start...

I'm curious, does this mean that west coast drivers are better than the Pennsylvania Posse and not just the Outlaws?

If you’re going to troll at least put some effort in to it.

Yeh unfortunately the track never widened out. Started getting interesting when Starks got into some lapped traffic. Trout and Hodnett cut the lead down to a few car lengths, but as has happened numerous times this year, that ugly yellow eliminated any chance of drama. Kudos to Trey though, he was fast all night.

No. It is just another example of how we get to watch drivers from all over the country because the fans where they are from are too cheap to support enough races to make it worth their while to stay home to race.

Now that right there is digging deep to rationalize staying on the porch. And very funny, indeed.

I hate to tell you but most traveling drivers would stay on their porch if there was enough racing for desent purses close to home.

Maybe so, but I do think the majorty of the guys travelling are doing so becuse thay feel they have the ability to win or place well in the bigger shows around the country. I don't see any of the travellers putting roots down in PA and spending entire seasons there. In fact, how many PA drivers are now with the All Stars?

Other areas don't dilute their product with far too many races that start in the winter with 67 different classes of sprint cars to further spread the fields out. We're on the verge of having too much of a good thing here and there's a fair argument to be made that we've already crossed that threshold. One thing is for sure, if things keep up the way they are, we're gonna need those drivers who abandon their "cheap" local fans to come here and fill out our fields after a lot of the mid to lower end 410 teams decide to move to 360's, wingless 360's, 358's, 305's, super sportsman, wingless super sportsman or whatever other sprint or sprint type class I forgot.

Rico was the show. While many of our teams were focused on bitching because the track wasn't throwing dust and black in hot laps, Rico put it 4 wheels above the cushion and drove it to a respectable finish. He is a bad ass.

been watching Rico in Northern California since he started in sprints, his nemesis and best friend Kyle Larson must have thought him about the high side, he loves to run up there consistently...
he won the hard charger last night from 17th to 6th.
Lincoln tonight was just not good to him, finishing 12th in the A.

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Well tonite's racing at Lincoln was great! Very entertaining, good heats & feature, lots of passing & tight battles thru the field (Dietrich held off Lance's steady charge... Dewease won his heat on last lap pass too)
I didn't travel NEARLY as far as NWfan, but tonite made my 6 hr. drive from Connecticut worthwhile (usually takes 5, traffic was tough, especially I-81 around Harrisburg) I was doubting my sanity after last nite's "Snoozer at the Grove"
Looking forward to Path Valley bullring tomorrow & appearance of Bell & Larson Monday at Lincoln....

I forgot who Dewease passed in the final turn/straightaway to win his heat. That heat alone was better than the whole WG show...it was Monteith: http://www.centralparacingscene.com/2018/07/danny-dietrich-holds-off-lance-dewease.html

Plus, I counted 38 cars at Lincoln, 27 at the Grove last nite. I guess teams prefer shorter tracks too....

having lived in Chico for a few years (i moved there for the track) the bull rings are the best. yes, horsepower and speed are demanding on men and equipment but the bull rings seperate the best of the best, that last cornerr pass by Lance in his heat (that was soooo cool) I believe proves my point...

Plus McFadden's near pass/wheelie earlier in the heat... he always makes it interesting!
