Where's Minthess when you need him? (a thousand apologies to everyone else!)
Justin Grant wins Silver Crown race at Terre Haute with "Ford" (style) 360 engine. Check out headers, no "Siamese" ports:
Can't post the damn image.....

Does anyone have more information on this engine rather than just speculating off the header pattern? (no offense)... But I know some of the newer LS blocks have a similar header/spark plug pattern. I once saw Sheldon Haud run an engine at Eldora with a "Ford Style" block but it was not a Ford.

I watched the video. They said "ford powered" or something along those lines. Thats what got me started. Took forever to figure out how to post image....

Right towards the end (about 4:52?) announcer says "Speedway Ford powered": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L85QELN9sXI

Is he sponsored by Sam Pierce Chevrolet, or is that the next pit stall?

"Not a Ford" finished third in its first time on the track. Tommy Worley Jr. finished third at St. Francois County Raceway in the Peanuts Campbell 7C with an LS410 engine the first time the car was on a track. For photos and more information visit the Baldwin Racing Engines page on Facebook.

Yes, I know a few years back as well when there were chevy motors with a ford exhaust design, I believe they were called BD heads? This photo of Justin Henderson from 2002 for example, that is a "chevy" engine.

If he's wrong, so be it....

Grant's car had Ford power, the only Ford in the field. There were two Mopars, Tyler Courtney and Chris Windom (actually Bill Rose's 66 car Windom ended up driving after blowing the motor in the Gene Nolan Racing 17), and two Toyotas in the cars of CJ Leary and Johnny Petrozelle. All the other entries, to the best of my knowledge, were Chevys. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what Jacob Wilson had in the 07 but statistics would imply it was probably a Chevy.
The Sam Pierce Chevrolet box that has been referred to is actually the pit box of Aaron Pierce in the pit next door.

Like Chet said, there were multiple different engine builders in the field on Sunday which is a great part of what makes the Crown Series so awesome. Grant had a Ford, Bacon with a Ford, Shepherd, Wilson, Petrozelle and Leary with Toyotas, Rose and Courtney with Mopars, and the rest running Chevy's.

Cool, thanks for actually knowing the facts!
I didn't know there were all those engines being used, (Toyota!?)
Now I'm gonna have to look up results & see how the different engines did...
Unless you already know...

Ah-ha! I thought there were two Fords but I couldn’t find the second in my notes. I just had J&D for Bacon and I threw away my driver roster from Richie with USAC.

I didn't realize that, makes me more interested in Silver Crown.
I've only been watching sprint cars for 8 yrs., took me a while to figure out that I prefer wingless (& midgets), but SC never grabbed me, seemed like bigger slower cars with 360s. But my Indiana friends all love the "Championship" cars, cause its a throwback to the good ole days when the path to Indy "went thru dirt". Thanks for helping to open my mind (somewhat... )

OK, I checked. Fords finished 1 & 25. Toyotas 5,9, 10 & 15. Mopar 3 & 4
Why do you think Silver Crown has so much diversity in engines?

Each manufacturer had at least one car in the top 5. Mopar had two with Windom (rose 66 car) and Courtney. Bacon had a throttle linkage break early in the race thus, the 25th place finish.

We developed that head with Brodix. It was a BD head which was much like a Ford head in the sense that the ports were symetrical. We took the port design off one of our GB2002 heads and applied it to this head and much like a Ford it got rid of the hot spot that in the center of the head on a Chevy due to the fact of the center ports being next to each other.

Kelly, why didn't this catch on? There was a BD2000 head motor for sale awhile back. But I haven't seen many, if any, others. Did it run any better or just the same?
