I asked Hodnett's crew chief, Ryan Hand, at Selinsgrove on Sunday. His exact quote to me was, "We can't win here, why travel to Ohio". I was upset also.

Don't ya just love a defeatest attitude? Maybe something new in the way of a challenge would be beneficial. Naaaa.....lets just keep the same old rut going we think we're in. That's how ya get better. Maybe Hodnett would get better off with a new crew chief. I don't think for a minute Hodnett has all of a sudden forgotten how to drive a sprint car.

Sometimes a change of scenery does a team good. Although they are struggling to get a win, they haven't been that slow. He'd have shot out there.

Some of you guys and gals have all the answers! Why should they travel to ohio right now when they cant win at home? Keep running the grove and they will win 20 gs for the point championship that shouldnt be to hard since only 16 cars are showing up! Heck maybe you should be the crew chief blazer I am sure the 8 hour days you put in if that may get the car washed and a couple of tires grooved but thats about it! Later

My 40 year career was built on 10 and 12 hour days, six days a week smart ass! You make the point all by yourself.....stay home and race against 16 cars. Fuck yeh I'd brag about that!

And how much money do you think they will spend throughout the course of the season to win that $20,000? Don't forget, that is actually $10,000 for the owner and $10,000 to the championship driver. Williams Grove is a track that is hard on motors and during handicapped events, they can figure on starting midpack at best. It's their team so it's their decision and they don't owe anyone an explanation for doing what they did but any way you cut it, they passed up on a good chance at winning $100,000 not that far from home, to stay home and race for $3500. I'm kinda glad they did because I'm stuck in Pennsyltucky this weekend so I'm glad a couple of decent teams opted to stay home or else it wouldn't be worth going to any races this weekend.

Really nothing new for pit lingo. When you can't find that little bit at home to move forward from top 10 starts to win is over time a very huge confidence bomb. Especially as well as this car has performed over the Hodnett/Hand days. With that being said the thought process is why leave town when we can't win at home. The only Posse guys that went are cars that are winning around here. Worth a couple tenths on the clock!!

The Grove actually had a decent field of 24 last night.

I understand that. And probably shouldn't have been so harsh. But.....there are quite a few drivers really shining at the Mansfield deal that weren't on anybody's radar. Sure a favorite is likely to win that deal, but there's plenty of good money to be had besides the $100,000. I happen to believe that Hodnett and the #27 team would have fared pretty well.

It's on their Facebook page. I'd do a horrible job of explaining it.

Hodnett got the W at Port tonight. He looked really fast. Hope it's the first of many more. He was asked by the announcer in victory lane about chasing points at Port this year and he said the car owner wants to stick around enough to maybe win the Port title. Greg seemed less than thrilled with the idea but I'd say that explains why they opted to stay home this weekend.

How was the track tonight? Couldnt make it, but followed on Race Monitor and saw lap times were in the high 18s low 19s.

It wasn't too bad. From what I understand, they got a pretty decent shot of rain a couple of hours before the race. Add that to the already saturated ground and as one would expect, it got a little rough. They worked on it all night as much as they could to try and smooth it over then after qualifying was complete, they went out with the grader and reworked it. It still remained a bit choppy but it was much better. Turns 1&2 got pretty high and wide and they were pretty much stuck on the bottom of 3&4 although Hodnett and a few others made the middle work on a few occasions. It ended up being a pretty good race.

The 69k would not have been at a regular show if he had been home and 48 might have been at either track. The only car Port was short for sure was Zearfoss.
