As I sit here looking outside at the snow coming down on top of freezing rain and drizzle for the second time in 3 days, I start thinking to myself "WHEN IS RACING SEASON GOING TO START???".

Then I looked at the calendar and the first show is EXACTLY 5 weeks from now when The Rumble In The Bullring kicks off the 2018 season at Eagle Raceway. The Lucas Oil POWRI Wingless Sprint Cars are returning to the high banks of America's Home Track on March 31st. Along with them on the card will be the Racesaver IMCA winged sprinters and the IMCA Stock Cars. All 3 classes will also be in action the previous night at US 36 Speedway down in Cameron, Missouri.

Last year's show at Eagle was fabulous, and this time around promises to be even better!! For those of you who aren't familiar with the non-winged sprints, they are where the term "Backin' it in!" started. Action in every corner and on every straightaway is what you'll see all evening long.

The front gates will open at 4:15, hot laps kick off at 4:30 with racing beginning at 5:30. Adult front gate admission is $18 with youths 6-12 just $5 and children 5 and under free.

Pit gates open at 2:30 and pit passes are $30.

Who else is ready to "Feel the Rumble"???

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Yes,  last year's show was most excellent.   (as well as the USAC shows in years previous)   I am a little disappointed that the Malvern LMs aren't part of the show again,  they also "get er done" in the bullring and put on a great show.  I am not sure how subtracting late models and adding anything IMCA is going to be better.

My real hope is that if (when) the weekend cancels because of weather,  they reschedule for later in the year.   Non-wing sprints at Eagle is a natural,  I wish they scheduled more than one a year.

Speedbump.........They (MBSLM) are still a part of the annual Nebraska Cup, as before, on Sunday Sept 9th ........the "Rumble" is the 2nd night of a two night special (Friday at US 36 in Cameron, Mo. and Saturday at Eagle) which feature the same classes both nights at both tracks.......miss USAC also, but rarely had more tha 12-14 actual touring non wingers make the trip from back east, with the rest of the field filled by WAR and locals anyway......it will be a great way to kick off the season..........SC

Agreed,  and will be there on March 31 from Denver if the show happens.  Just not overly optimistic,  let's face it, how many March races actually run during March in the upper midwest.     The good news is that if it does cancel, that will happen Weds/Thurs.   Here's hoping they will reschedule if that happens.

WAR seems to be a great series and worthy of an 8.5 hour drive, just wistfull remembering a GREAT show that I could talk a non-diehard into riding with....(non-IMCA) LMs and wingless sprints are a great combo for me personally.   IMCA stock cars and 305 sprints aren't such a top draw and this early in the season, wish they were not part of the bill.  (it is a long drive home after).    Generally the track is junk that early in the season but if anybody can pull it off it will be the Eagle crew...second only to Knoxville's Duncan family.
