Saw on SpeedSport that Sheldon is in the 17 this year. Still Stenhouse, but Wood is stepping away and Richard Marshall is stepping up to partner.

Congrats to Sheldon! Will Bonzai still be wrenching?

That'll be interesting.  I'm sure Sheldon campaigned to keep Bonzai and given their chemistry Stenhouse-Marshall would be wise to keep them together.  I'd say Bonzai stays on in some capacity.

Is Jac running the 93 a possibility?

Running the WoO. Should be potent if Bonzai comes along. If I’m right, Swank was with Wood so he no longer has a direct tie into the car. I’m sure he will land somewhere that works well for him.

Hmm that actually never crossed my mind but i kind of doubt it unless they get some funding from somewhere. When was the last time Jac drove his own car? Really not sure. It would also be a question of if sponsor would stay on board or if they could add additional sponsors. I know Rico helped out Sheldon last year and Jac is one of Rico's idols/favorite racers so I'm sure he'd be on board. Not sure about other sponsors. Jac would have to try and conserve equipment...which is why he hasn't driven his own car in a while. That could add up Smile

I saw Jac is running the family car with a new number. I knew the 93 was a hurdle for Sheldon to be in another car. I am glad they sorted things out and can make it work. Sheldon will flourish in the 17 given time to adjust to a new team. Especially if Bonzi is not moving over and staying to working with Jac. The WoO is going to be fun I watch this year.

Sheldon is still Sheldon, doesn’t matter what car he’s in, how good the equipment is or who’s turning wrenches. 9 times out of 10 he’s his own worst enemy.  If his last name wasn’t Haudenshcild, he wouldn’t have the 17 ride and that’s a fact. The kids got talent no doubt, but he’s just too hard on equipment and not in a good way.

Hadn't seen Jac was running family car only this saying his plans would be released as determined, but nonetheless sounds like he will be racing in some capacity next season even if just hit and miss shows as he did in Jamie Miller's 6.

You obviuosly did not pay attention to anything last season. He had 41 top 10's and 7th in points! Pretty damn good for a rookie. Did not wreck much either

I don' think he really tore up a whole lot Not in terms of a rookie season. Unless he gets worse I wouldnt really consider him tearing up a whole lot of equipment

Also at this point I would say he is one of the better options if not the best option if you are looking for a full time outlaw driver. That is one that is not already racing for one of the "super" teams like Stewart, Kahne, Larson, even throw CJB in there as well. I would say it would either be between him and Schuhart if you are looking to pick a young driver who is waiting to bust through just like Gravel has the past few years. Both I think are wise decisions and I don't think Sheldon is as hard on his equipment as most people think. He gets better year after year with not tearing up cars which is a learning experience for all drivers. A lot of drivers are their own worst enemies especially in their 20's.

The kid has talent, no doubt. But I don’t consider rolling 3 times in one show a mere coincidence.  With the limited wrecks you speak of which I disagree, the blown opportunities, 41 top 10's in 80 plus races and finishing 7th in points doesn’t earn him the 17 ride in a real world. Whether your a fan or not its a fact ..!

Define 'real world'.  He impressed a lot of people last year and is a future star no matter what you think.  Ask Brad Doty about crashing as a youngster, he told me once that NOBODY tore up more equipment than he did learning the sport.  If Sheldon does crash (and it's not near as much as you think) he's always going forward at the time which makes a difference.....The best is yet to come and if he's lapped your fav a few times be prepared for it to happen more often now, c'est la vie....

I'm not sure what facts you just stated but it doesn't matter, b/c guess what...this is the real world. The sponsors, and owners of the car thought he was deserving in this fake world we apparently live in.

A i once heard a great car owner say "If your mad at someone and run them over and crash, that was stupid, and you should be fired. If you're going forward and crash because you over drive the car, thats what I pay you to do, go forward and win. If you crash in the process thats part of the game."

Hell my dad even told me one time, after not pressing it and being content with 5th so I don't crash. "If you're not willing to crash, then what the f*ck are we doing here!"
