Please remember that on 2 day show with Ted Johnson the friday feature win did not count in total.  Actually Steve and Sammy won alot of first nite of 2 day show and it does not count in your total.  Anyone got the real total based on how it is done today with all features counting.  I would guess Steve would get at least another 100 wins.

It's crazy to think that even with all of his absolute dominance the last 10 years Schatz is still almost 350 wins behind the kings total and that's not even counting the prelim night wins as linbob said above.

These numbers are based on WoO records, so no it doesn't count previous prelim wins from years past.

I closely match these to the WoO website.

Yeah, the numbers would be much higher for the drivers if the WoO counted the prelims from days gone by.

Not sure anyone has the actual totals. Would be interesting to see if Johnny G has any insight to the real numbers.

thanks

I think Steve would probably be close to 800 with the prelim shows counted. Sammy around 400.

Sammy didn’t run the tour near as much as Steve did, but I randomly pulled an old AARN out one day and saw that Sammy won a prelim show late in 2000, and the article said it was his 10th prelim win of the year, all of which were not officially counted in the list above.

I actually researched this very carefully a couple of years ago on Kevin Eckert's website. The WoO stopped counting the prelims in 2006. According to my research, steve has 143 prelim wins.

what puzzles me is why the WoO does not count them. You could make a strong argument that the prelim night was harder to win because on the 2nd night of a two day show, the top four were locked in to the front two rows and did not even have to qualify.

A possible counter point is that 2-4 didn't "try" as hard on a prelim night as they were just trying to lock in.

How would everybody rank wins on the second night of a 3 day show? Don't know how many they ran, but I remember Baylands ran 3 days in the Fall. I can't remember how many locked in on night 1, but I think it might have been more than 4. I think night one filled the inside row with night 2 filling the outside row on night 3.
