Since when did the All Stars start charging Outlaw prices?  $30 for a $5000 to win race?

Price ain't set by the all stars. That's on the track. Most charge $22, some charge $25. That's pretty steep though. Where's this at?

They are also having the track's regular division, the 358 modifieds, paying $3000 to win as the undercard. Guess what, the place is PACKED.

OK....then $30 is a little steep for tonight, more like a $25 show.

Glad to see they got a good turnout! Price don't matter if the racing is good! I hope if you're there ya have a good time. I don't believe Grandview hosts "big" shows that often from just seeing stuff on the internet from PA so probably helps cover the purse/sanctioning a bit so they can provide for a good show! I get it from a business perspective!

Good question.  It was $4.00 for an All-Star race back in 1970.  And it was 100 laps.  And it paid $1000.  And that was only 47 years ago.

Shoot it's usually either that or 35 for pit passes at the All-Star races I've been to the last few years.

If $5 is going to break you, you have bigger problems than sprint car racing.

I'm sure he thought he could away with it because of the intense promotion of Tony and even Rico being there.  And based on the crowd he was right.   Not one of the people sitting near me knew anything about Sprint Car racing and cheered wildly whenever they saw Tony or Rico.   When they were interviewing Kemenah during the Dash draw Rico appeared and the cheers interrupted the interview.  Blake Anderson was trying to figure out what was going on.  When Sammy was riding the track on his 4 wheeler After the sportsman consi's some in the stands were cheering.  The entire group behind me said "who's that." Lol

i wonder if Tony got paid extra appearance fee for the advertising.  I mean, they were calling  the show "Smoke on the Hill."

$30 doesn't seem that bad to me,  last I checked promotors can charge any $$$ amount they want.  The consumer has the choice to pay it and attend or to not pay it and stay home.   MLB, NFL, College Sports, Racing, Movie Theaters and all other forms of entertainment are the same way.

The promotors take a chance every time they open the gates.  If the weather was "iffy" and only 1000 people showed up, they lost $$$ even at $30.  If they sold out (I have no idea how many seats they have, let's say 3500) they still didn't make an overwhelming amount of profit despite what many believe.

if you get to the gate and see the price nobody is saying you have to go in. turn around and go home. I've been to races that when i got to the gate thought the price was a little high, i paid for my ticket and hoped to see a good race. If so i went back the next year, if not well they didn't miss me i'm sure.

That's a little high for sure. It's more about principle than $5-$10. Most PA tracks have very reasonable prices for the fans and some charge as much as they can. Hence I don't go to Grandview.
