1st off just want to say I do feel bad for what happened to Kevin a few years back. That being said to say what he did on Twitter about Alex hill was just plain stupid. I've watched the video and I'm no expert but looks like she had no where to go. Like to get a driver's point of view. Acting just like his daddy. Cry baby

Driver here,
I posted this in the other thread about last evening's crash:
Contrary to popular belief, these cars do not stop on a dime. The brakes in a sprint car really aren't that good despite the cars being really light. From the in-car video it looks like Hill did everything she could to try and get slowed down, but ran out of time and space. The only other options would be ramping up the back of the red car to her front/inside or stuffing her car it into the fence and still possibly catching Swindell's car.
Link to in-car video:
https://www.facebook.com/db3imaging/videos/1587623837967359/?hc_ref=ARRdgP9wOXXYHzH39LnaYOXEZ-5di_6P4WUNgWsfA1kgGWjEXzo9E3yY-db6eOpoBbM&pnref=story
It's so easy for people who have never even sat in one of these cars to throw blame at Jon Agan (he had help from behind, btw) or explain 1,001 reasons why Hill should have missed Swindell. When the front of the field starts having a titanium yard sale the cars starting in the back are still building up speed. With the wings of 15 cars in front of you plus the dust and chalk line getting blown up, it's nearly impossible to see what's going on that far up ahead when everybody is 3-4 wide. Hill most likely didn't even see Swindell's car until she swerved to miss the red car and by that time it was too late.

Reason # 45573 why I'll never be a Swindell fan. Even Kyle Larson replied and tried explaining it to Kevin Swindell.

If you follow Kevin on Twitter, you will also know that this isn't the first time he has posted something that is completely full of sh$$, racing or otherwise. Often some funny comments but at other times, you wonder if he hit his head one too many times.

Kevin's pretty much getting raked across the coals for this one on social media, by some drivers too (most aren't exactly throwing him under the bus but rather are being a bit more passive). Out of the entire situation of a very nasty crash what many took away from it was "man that was nasty, really glad everyone is okay..." That's the normal response. The main thing Kevin gleaned from the crash was to throw Alex Hill under the bus. Head scratcher for sure, but not surprising.

Sounds like frustration seeping through into his comments. Reallu has not competely reached teh acceptance period om his condition. May take more time before he reaches that point.

Who cares what Kevin or anybody else said? #4 was totally out of control & started the whole thing, car who hit Sammy had no options. Glad nobody was seriously injured

Um......who cares? Maybe you posted without looking first. Brad Doty cared enough to make a comment. Maybe you've heard of him? If it was my kid making the comment a public apology would be getting made at a minimum from myself then one from the kid.

I looked at Alex Hill video and Knoxville race video. There is no way at all that Alex Hill had anything to do with that wreck. She was just trying to survive. I would think after seeing video Swindells would also realize that. It is often the same story, blame the girl.

I believe it was Aaron Reutzel behind Agan to start that race. Glad everybody is OK. At first I did think maybe Alex could have slowed a little quicker, but then I saw her in car footage. happened too fast, she had nowhere to go. I can understand the emotion from Kevin. that's his dad out there, in a violent wreck in very similar circumstances compared to the wreck that paralyzed him. I would rather drivers and other people at the forefront of this racing voice their opinions instead of being trained to say all the same PC non answers to softball questions. Let's not tear them down when they do. I want to hear what they have to say, even if I disagree with it. We're all human and step on it at times.

Doty has a right to his opinion, as does Kevin, you, & everybody else
All this bickering about "who said what to who" reminds me of "Real Housewives" .....
Once again, glad nobody was seriously injured

I'll have to look again, you're probably right, could not tell what made him careen across the track, must have been something.....
Bottom, line, its an insanely dangerous sport, accidents happen, nobody was badly hurt

You can hold any personal opinion that you want, however once it is announced publicly and once it is directed, derogatorially at someone else, it deserves to be scrutinized, commented upon, and if found to be wanting...challenged. Everyone having a right to an opinion may be true, but the all too prevalent thought in modern day America, that all opinions should be respected is horse manure. If you are either objectively, or even overwhelmingly subjectively wrong, there needs to be a consequences to what is said.
Swindell put this out there, calling out another driver by name in public. Just about everyone else, including other well known drivers have called his opinion out as wrongheaded and unfair. Frustration in the moment is what it is, but in the immortal words of Herm Edwards, when it comes to email and social media in an emotional moment..."Don't press send."

I think I read somewhere that Reutzel admitted he go into the back of Agan and turn him outside.
