I live in Austin, TX and unfortunately there is very little quality sprint car racing in this state. Especially true for the dates you gave. We get the Outlaws for a few races and those races are good. The ASCS 360's race here but not during your dates. I would plan on catching a flight to Des Moines, Iowa (a bit over $330 roundtrip from San Antonio) and rent a car to head to the Knoxville Nationals. You will never regret making that choice. Totally worth the extra money for airfare since you've already done the big expenditure by getting to the states. The official dates for the Nationals is August 10-13 but there is racing going on before hand in Oskaloosa, Iowa a city near Knoxville.

the sprint cars for me!"

If you are in the states durring the Knoxville Nationals I would do everything I could to make an effort to see at least one night of that. Durring that time in the summer here, there is nothing that even can come close to competing.
