Another thread got me thinking, what drivers that are not currently WOO members, may  have been in the past, could be on the WOO with in the next 5-10 years?

NOT to be confused with who is most derserving....

A couple of drivers I can think of... Justin Henderson, Brian Brown, Reitzel, Lasoski,

I think Aaron Reutzel will be out there eventually. He may just be the next big thing and I think he has what it take. Brent Marks has said numerous times that he wants to take his show on the road so I look for him to be out there before long. I'd also lay money on Brian Clauson in the near future as well. I wouldn't count out Cody Darrah either. He still has a good relationship with KKR so he may get another chance in the future too.

Love debates like this. I think Lil' Haud and Reutzel are a the most likely. Cody Darrah is an obvious choice. Dale Blaney has mentioned that he would like to get back on the tour. Bryan Clauson is definitely on track to wind up there and clearly has the talent. Tim Kaeding, maybe? Not sure of the funds of Dobmeier, but that could be interesting. Who knows what Kyle Hirst could get into with ties to Roth. Brent Marks has the want and desire, but the funding is still not there. Brian Brown and Justin Henderson would both be fun to watch. Lasoski might be in the twilight of his career, and may be content his current schedule/setup. Another name that I'll throw out there is Ian Madsen. Obviously not ready yet, but I could see something developing 4 or 5 years down the road if the Nehring team improves.

Seems Kyle Hirst was given the opportunity after Gravel was out but chose to return home to race the 83jr instead. Maybe there's more to the story that I don't know about. Personally, I feel like he has the talent. Unfortunatley the California guys, being geographically seperated as they are from the rest of the sprint car world, don't have the exposure to the big tracks that is needed to progress in the same way that the drivers located near the center of the country do. I feel this was evident by their finishes at the Nationals this year. Netto, Copeland, Cox, Golobic, Croft, Bud Kaeding, all struggled, really struggled. Even TK struggled and he's been there all season. Heavy locals and throw in the WoO guys and Knoxville is a tough place to show up and try to compete so I'm surley not condemning any of them for that. Which leads me to my next point, any of these future WoO drivers will absoutley have to have a good crew cheif and I think Sheldon is at the point in that respect.

Brady Bacon could be making his way to the Outlaws one day. Lasoski is 55 or 56 so if he's going to run the Outlaws it better be real soon. Driving for Tod in the NSL is a real good fit for Danny at this time, I think, and he still races other shows as well. Danny would jump at the chance do the full Outlaw deal, though, as there is a certain panache in running with the top dogs. Sammy may run NSL next year, too, but Kevin's situation will dictate what Sammy does.

I'm afraid the future of the WoO is in trouble. The potential growth of the NSL and the All Stars may attract those drivers that may have WoO ambitions simply because of tour cost and lack of sponsorship. Let's face it, national sponsorship is getting harder and harder to attain for teams. The NASCAR guys who are car owners on the WoO tour attract sponsors because of who they are. That may also begin to dry up as the sponsors may lean towards doing more on a regional basis. There might also be a growth in regional sprint car venues in other parts of the country, which again will make it tougher for the WoO tour to remain strong.

At a time when there are former Outlaws (McCarl, Lasoski, for example) racing regionally due to car owners scaling back or getting out of the sport entirely I think we should ask another question that directly relates to yours.  What new owners will field a World of Outlaws team in the next 5-10 years?

You can also ask in 5 to 10 years who NSL and Allstairs who will sponsor them too.

It is quite clear by others posts on here that there are a few outlaw bashers

Lets face it if any driver  are offered a woo spot who would refuse it! It's still considered cream of the crop!

yes the NSL and allstars have a lot of talent . How many guys run the NSL on a ft basis?  And on the  allstars because I dont know that number. I still think the outlaws are still the premiere group. They had 9 of their drivers start the a main at the Nationals. How often do they actually race at KNOXVILLE

as far as mccarl and lasoski do I think they still have it and are great racers? Yes with out a doubt, But do I think they can hang in that grueling schedule and be away from the family that's a different topic.

hirst was given the opportunity to go ahead with roth for the tour, as we have all heard Dennis is a hard hard man to run for. When you don't perform to his standards you get that call and for Hirst he did.. Got sent back home, where Hirst can perform his best in California He should of worked out the bugs with Gravel before he terminated him but per usual Dennis he didn't.. Should of figured out the cars kept what he was running and gotten a strong crew and crew chief behind him. Gravel can definitely tackle different tracks and not just in 1 area. It really sad to see that he is struggling with the 7. I just think that Benic is really showing what he is not capable of doing. That's getting a car to go around the track! Hope Rogers finds a crew chief SOON. before someone else' snatches him up in Novemeber. I saw Scott apologize for his mistake on set up for the Nationals per his FB page. but if you look at his track record he is not performing. I spoke with David after the Nationals and  he mentioned that they have hired a tire guy and helper that has worked with him in the past which is good. But until you get someone in there that knows what they are doing and can get that car around  a track.  I don't see a podium anytime soon! Good luck Rick!

Mark Dobmeier

I wouldn't say NEVER but hasn't Dobmeier raced less this year than last year even. He has a family business and I had thought, that was the reason for the team switching things up after last year and not running 1000s of miles each week.

Who will field WOO teams.... possibly Rico. Didn't he state during nationals that was a goal of his to fund a program for future drivers. Really the youngest guy that hasn't completely jumped ship to soley run asphalt is Brad Sweet.

I honestly don't see the NSL and All - Stars hurting the WOO. How many of those drivers would be on the WOO tour if the NSL or ASCOC wasn't there?

There isn't going to be a full field of outlaw teams. It's always going to be 8- 12-15 and right now there may be (3) teams not running the tour that could be competitive.

People have been predicting the WoO's demise for years, I'm sure if the internet existed in 1988, the USA Series would have been a hot topic. Then NST, then ASCS was going to be the ticket, now NSL.

You need a National tour, and people still want to see them race, so I highly doubt they're going anywhere any time soon.

Ask any young sprint car driver what series they want to run someday and it "will not" be NSL, ASCS or AllStars.

Love them or hate them, the cream of the crop is the World of Outlaws and everyone knows it.

I bet Bryan Clausen is itching to get a full time Outlaw ride.

From an earlier post, looks like MWR is looking for a 3rd traveling team member. I would think they are planning on running WoO next year. Clauson deserves it. He showed some good speed at Knoxville.

There was early specualtion of this when he *announced* a press conference would take place at Nationals.  I'm guessing you missed said conference where he announced he'll be racing/hoping to race in 200 races during the 2016 calendar year (dubbed "Circular Insanity"), which includes 100+ winged races, non winged, midgets, Silver Crown, and the Indy 500.  So NO WoO quite yet...

I did miss said press conference. Was only able to make Friday-Saturday this year. Honestly, there plan described in said press conference sounds better. The kid can flat out drive. Putting him in all different types of cars/racing is only going to make him better.
