I would love to know how many of the top 10 who were locked into the B-Main on Saturday decided to take their chances and race again on Friday?  Listening/Watching on the Cushion it appeared that none of them were going to do this and boy do I think somebody is making a mistake.  Not being disrespectful to those that aren't in that top 10 but I think your chances of beating most of them (those not locked in so far) are a lot better than the stout 10 in the B, by a lot!

Anyone else have any more info on this or thoughts?

I hope Kevin Swindell is going to be okay.  He goes from a starting position on the front row to the fifth row by having the last car out bump him.  Then when the green goes his row doesn't and the accident happens, more bad luck.  Dad Sammy didn't have a lot of luck either, he blows up running fourth in the A which would have put him on the 2nd row Saturday to having to come out of the B, arghhhhh.  Enjoyed the show a lot more than Wednesday's, much more passing and action and heat race winners coming from 6th, 6th and 8th....

PS  To the Dummy (yep, I'm looking at you Ford97) who thinks you have to be there to know anything please don't tell the NFL, MLB or any other major sports folks that if you're not there you don't know Jack, how foolish....

Hey Jim, you've been around forever, what are your thoughts on this?  Would you have taken the chance?

By the way, lots of people told me a few weeks back that Friday was a GREAT night, when I had suggested it wasn't a favorite of mine.  26 good cars won't be there, maybe it can still happen, here's hoping....

everyone kept their spot in the B. I was standing right there and James McFadden was tye last one with 3 minutes left and he decided to keep his spot.

As a gambling man, I am more than disappointed with some of the '10'.  Heck, at least 6 of them are not going to make it and most of them would have been front runners tonite.  Wayne might have a motor that's not healthy but the other 3 are fast and I fully believe that Henderson and Sammy are going to transfer with their experience here, sure doesn't leave much methinks....

I'd have to agree. Looking at the B main line-up, I think I'd take my chances on Friday if I wasn't starting near the front.

So if you'd opt out of being locked into the B Main, ran Friday night, and finished 5th.  Where does that put you for Saturday?  Not being snarky, just asking.

Pretty sure finishing 5th on Friday night lines you up 11th in the B on Saturday night.

I wasn't real surprised that none of them took it.    The only one that I think would have real legitimate shot at doing better is Stevie Smith but its still a real gamble.

Of the 4 cars starting in the front of the B, 2 of them won't transfer to the A.

I'd take Hendersen, Smith, Sammy, and Garner of the 10 that are locked in.

What happens if you are slated to start 7th in the B you run tonite and get a flat in the heat and dont even make it tonites Amain and you end up in the D main I think I keep my spot in the Bmain and take my chances on passing a few cars rather than run against 80 more tonite!

I question it because guys like Hodnett and Stevie are better than most of the Friday cars and have shown that at Knoxville in the past.  The few cars that they have to pass include Henerson and Swindell, no easy feat plus Cody is generally fast and has a good chance as well.   Starting 17th or 18th is a lot better than 23rd, we'll see how it works out, thanks for your input....

I see it both ways. I really expected at least 3-4 to take tonights option, especially towards the back of the top 10. I'd think if someone say 2 took the option, then they'd started filling the B at 9th instead of 11th correct?  Now tonights transfer spot means SO much more though, could be a wild transfer spot race.

I also hope what I'm reading elsewhere isnt the case. Hopefully Rico's replacement driver doesnt start and park. If thats the case next year I hope Knoxville changes the rule on replacement drivers. Thats one thing the Nationals doesnt need with 90+ cars who'd LOVE to race in the A.

If Rico's not there the car should not race. Pay him the starting amount and take 5 out of the B.

I think Hodnett & Smith would have a better shot at a top 4 tonight than the B on Saturday.

The top 4 tonight should start 21st-24th & the B transfers 17th - 20th.

Agree, that's complete BS if they find a driver and do a start and park when you have 80 plus other guys fighting for a spot! If he's there he races, if not his spot is taken! Take 5 from the B! Simple as that!

I am a gambling man myself to some degree but if I was locked into the B main I would definitely not run tonite if u get a bad draw tonite and time bad u are in trouble instead of being in the B on sat you would b  in the D and have to pass a whole alot of cars rather than just 4 or 5 which is a feat in itself sometimes in sprint  car racing....Rico is running a KN race in Pa I take it he cant make it back to knoxville tommorrow and Hodnett is running the Grove tonite

Two things.....first thing to keep in mind is the money the B drivers that 5th, 6th etc....pays....pretty good money to race for. Second, not sure what's going on with Rico, but from my knowledge when a driver drops out, the car loses it's position and goes to the back of the field. So, the drivers tonight should be racing for 16th-19th, and tomorrow nights B 20th-23rd and Rico's #24 should start 24th.
