Salina High Banks Hosts MARS/MLRA This Weekend!

 

Salina, Oklahoma – June 30, 2015 - It will be a HUGE 4th of July weekend for both late model fans and drivers as the Salina High Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma hosts the 2nd annual “Freedom Classic,” this Friday and Saturday night, July 3-4. This huge event will feature the two premiere late model divisions in the region; the MARS DIRTcar and Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).   

The top ten in MLRA point standings and drivers expected to represent that tour include Terry Philips, Ryan Gustin, Jason Utter, Jesse Stovall, Chad Simpson, RC Whitwell, Jake O’Neal, Dave Eckrich, Jeremy Payne and Jason O’Brien.

Among the MARS DIRTcar regulars include Tony Jackson, Jr., Justin Asplin, Leroy Johnson, Brandon McCormick, Jeff Roth, Jon Driskill, Missouri’s Jason and Josh Hughes and Will Vaught.

Area Oklahoma drivers will look to take the spotlight away from both series. They include Jacob McGee, Randy Timms, Dillon Rupe, Cliff Morrow, Brandon Morton, Gavin Landers, Tommy Fulton and more.

Last year 33 drivers took part in the inaugural “Freedom Classic” with the Friday night portion won by Terry Phillips. Jeremy Payne won the exciting Saturday night championship finale one year ago.

Friday night (July 3) will pay $3000 to win while Friday night’s “Freedom Classic” finale pays $5000 to the championship feature winner.

It will be a huge weekend for modified drivers as well as the track will pay $1500 to win and $200 to start both nights features, both with a $100 entry fee that includes pit pass.

The tracks grand national and factory stock divisions will also be competing on Friday night while Saturday night will see the tracks 360 modified and pure stock divisions in competition.

Adult general admission tickets are $20 each night OR $35 for a 2-Day grandstand pass. Kids ages 7-12 years of age grandstand tickets are just $10 per night while kids ages six and under will be admitted free. VIP is $35 each night and admission to the beer garden is $20 per night.

Pit passes are $35 for adults and $25 for kids. There is also a two-day pit pass for adults, which is $35.
