I NOTICED ON THE GROVE BOARD THAT THEY ARE COMPLAINING about Hagerstown ticket price that is the only Speedweek race I have missed in the last two years and this year will make three.
Everyone seems to give Lincoln slack on their pricing but after Monday I am going to think before I go their in the future they charged $20 for a one division show with the smallest Speedweek purse allowed, Path Valley was $20 WITH THE micros and $1700 to the non qualifier race winner.
The Grove was $16 Friday with the midgets and is only #18 this Friday for the $10,000 to win Mitch race plus street stocks.

Lincoln also price gouged on the Dirt Classic qualifier. $25 for a regular show with the 27 and the 51S in attendance.

I must agree, I am a season seat holder (5) and attend most every race Lincoln runs. But they seem to be about the highest priced track in Central PA. They upped a reg. show this year to $15 which I don't mind, but $20 dollars for any special is crazy. I am not a fan of the Grove any more but am a fan of their pricing. The best is late season $8 for senior citizen is fantastic. Why cant Lincoln use the numbers between 15-20 for some races, add senior citizen price or repeat customer discount. I love Lincoln, some of the best racing you will see on an every week basis, but the promoter is very self centered and arogant, which doesn't work in this economy.

Back in 1971 a friend and I went to see Mitch Smith sack USAC at Selinsgrove. It cost us $4.50. And we had to drive over 225 miles to get there. Today whiners would say that's $1.50 more that a regular race and it's too far, it could rain. Blah, blah, blah. And decades later we went over Eldora to see the Mopar Millon. And it was over 250 miles to get there. And we went in the pits. And it was $100. And todays whiners would say that's too much, it's too far, it could rain. Blah, blah, blah. Life is memories. We've gone to good races, bad races, been rained out, snowed out, even frozen out once. But we don't go around complaining, blah, blah, blah. As the Eagles would say, Get Over It. For me, as Alabama would say, Give Me One More Shot.

When i got home from lincoln tuesday morning i realized that i just paid $20 for less than a normal week program. A few more cars and time trials.... For some reason i don't mind paying alittle more for grandview and hagerstown, only because they are NOT sprint car tracks and the novelty of seeing 410's somewhere different for me is worth it. JAT

Not to bring economics into it, but it could be as simple as supply and demand. Williams Grove can fit a lot more people than Lincoln for one, so if you have the extra space, why not try to get more people in with price. They can't fill the place now using the lower pricing. I can't remember the last big show I went to where Lincoln wasn't absolutely overflowing (I rarely go for that reason), why lower ticket prices when you can sell more than you can hold as it is? Williams Grove is having the oppposite problem, the place is empty half the time, you can't raise prices hoping to fix that.

Still by far the most affordable entertainment around. Gone to an NBA, NFL, MLB game lately? How about a movie?
