Sure doesn't sound like postponed to me.  They used the word cancel and put it in all caps.   Generally if it's postponed they go ahead and put new dates on there too.    Can't say this surprises me that much either given recent history.

The press release from the ASCS office has it postponed so there is a question about the true status of this event.  The PR says a decision will be made after the weekend to see if the area gets any more rain.

The Ascs is notorious for putting races on the schedule that aren't gonna happen or, as in this case, using semantics to dodge addressing the status of a rained out event.

of course Scott  Traylor is gonna get on here and defend his bread and butter but we all know how that circus operates.... It's just one rung on the ladder above the uscs

If you are dogging anyone for not having this race, you are proving to the world that you know nothing. I'm 20 minutes from the track, we have had nearly 6" of rain in March thus far. If you have ever been to Devil's Bowl, you would also know that the pits are soft in the dead of summer when it's 100 degrees. Oh, it rained more yesterday, today and will most likely rain again tomorrow.....

Much better decision to pull the trigger now, as opposed to waiting until the last minute. In years past when they were trying to salvage the weekend and finally had to concede, they caught hell. At least calling it this early, motel rooms could be cancelled and other plans made.Tough position to be in, no winners either way.

Agree 100%.  Good move.  Bad deal for all us fans who were ready for the 360 season to start in the DFW metromess .

Looks like our group will have to plan more travel this year.  ASCS Red River region really broad area and Gulf South is a long drive.  And now these two National events are questionable-postponed or cancelled.

The fishermen are happy, lakes filling up.  Farmers "were" happy, but as noted on local DFW TV last week, fields are too wet to plant.

Looking forward to 2015, going to catch the Outlaws in April (please no rain), then the NSL in May in Missouri (please no rain),  Nebraska in September (rained one night last year), and all the ASCS that we can-hope the price of gas stays low!!

I don't think anyone is dogging them for this weekend at all.   We all know everything is very soggy in all areas of the metroplex.   The only thing anyone was questioning or not the races were cancelled or postponed.   There is a big difference between what the two words mean.   From what I've heard, there is a chance this race is still happening if they can determine when the weather will allow the pits to dry out.    If this race will still happen then it would have been better to say "postponed, dates to be determined" or something similar.

As far as people dogging them for postponing the 2nd night last year without a single drop of rain at the track, they deserved it.     This situation is clearly different though, and I think people who were looking forward to it are just disappointed.

People should stop over analyzing everything, it's not rocket surgery. It was postponed on the 18th and cancelled for this year on the 20th, a little patience goes a LONG way.

I was just asking for clarification between postponed and cancelled....big difference in terminology there.  Trying to keep my schedule updated.

Devil's Bowl said cancelled and the ASCS said postponned....confusing.

Just checked ASCS web page....they say offically "called off".....I equate that to cancelled.  More spring rains forecast this week....

Yes it has now officially been cancelled but initially were conflicting reports.  Sucks the area has been getting so much rain...guess it is on to 81 Speedway for the NCRA opener.
