IF I have followed the board correctly, Lunstra has as of yet named a driver for the upcoming seasong. I did take note, when Team 13 posted pictures of their "race ready" stable of cars, the primary sponsor was Senske and Sons. My query, is Lunstra in a position of needing funding before fielding a team this season? If my observations are incorrect, I shall gladly issue a retraction.

Lunsta also mentioned not having the overwelming desire to field a car without Mark, the pic is proof of a completly different set of cars, rig, and mule, Senske has sponsored Mark before the Lunstra Partnership and during, If I am correct, Marks cars are prepped for the event in LV, his choice to race closer to home would proubly be product of fatherhood/family and a grueling stint routine weekend travels, besides a buisness to run in Grand Forks, regardless, I expect the 13 to be competitve as always.. Maybe I dont know the details , But, my observation of the Lunstra /Dobmier team was well funded top notch stuff and product of so, givin a 1/3 of that prior funding still produces a car capable of winning, anywhere.. anytime...

Las Vegas is pretty close to home for a North Dakotan I guess.

Grand Forks, ND is experiencing a harsh winter, temps well below zero. Las Vegas is also suffering from a "harsh" winter, daytime temps in the 60's to 80's.

perhaps he is taking his family and combining a race event with a small Vaca? I dunno, just seems logical to me beings I reside in the midwest as well, I dare you to entertain the thought of his mileage the past six years? could you do it? I bet he has logged more miles in one weekend than you have driven all year for a racing event. Not sure why the hostility, i dont know the ins or outs of ones particular relations, but, seems alot of trolls on here trying to make small clips of nonsence, for one the season will not be underway In Grand Forks, and due to the spring rains i dont see alot of races earlie in the season not threatened by weather, as you wish, maybe hypocritical, maybe the LV race and the rest of the season will be better with low car counts? can it....

Sorry for the tongue in cheek response. Honestly wasn't trying to stir the pot. I have no problem with Mark personally, and clearly he is a hell of a shoe. I'm also a friend of Dave Lunstra's, and I'm quite certain he would have nothing but good things to say about Mark and their time together. I work on a race team that has traveled extensively in the past so I know what a grind it can be. We cut back our schedule for exactly the same reasons that the 13 team has cited(work, family, ect.),so I get the reasoning behind it. Again I apologize to those who took my one silly comment and ran with it thinking I have some issue with Dobmeier. Next time I will be sure to announce I'm going to make a lighthearted comment before I do so some of you don't feel the need to jump on me as some keyboard hater that you need to belittle based on one sentence that had no ill intent.

I'm sure the crash you are referring to you was the C Main KNoxville Nat's from about 5-7 years ago. That was when the SPEED channel still existed and was airing the broadcast live. You're right - he did go to Huset's the next night - and WON.
He did not suffer broken ribs, but was was badly bruised - especially his arm. His entire forearm was purple and black from the injury and his ribs were pretty bruised up too - which is basically as bad as being broken.
The video is on youtube. Everytime I watch it, I can't believe he go out and walked away like he did. One of the worst crashes I've seen. Something breaks and his car takes a right turn into the fence in turn one at full speed....

If any of you really followed the Lunstra/Dobmeier Motorsports team in the past would know they have started their season out in Las Vegas for many years now.

From what i have read Mark is planning on racing Knoxville this season + the NSL. Does not sound like a cut back schedule to me.

I don't know Lundstra personally but I know several people that have worked on his racecars. According to them he has plenty of money. I have heard that he has 8 or so engines and 4 or 5 cars. Lundstra's farm is huge and I think he does pretty well. The team has always been well funded and equipped, even before Dobmyer drove for him.

no biggy, im 90% sure if we were chatting over a pickup box with beverages at hand we would get along just fine, pretty sure most of us on here would, sarcasum is difficult to understand in text, In Marks defence I havent meet too many drivers as competitive as him and as approachable to chat with, he is one of those guys as a competitor, you have difficulty hating. because, he is always a good runner and not cocky about it , i can think of several divers that have the same easy going personality and run Dam, Dam, good too..

We may have already shared some beverages over a pickup box, if you go to Knoxville the chances are probably very good actually. Take it easy.
