Just curious if anyone knew about Kurt's mma career. Hes 8-0 with 4 knockouts. Now hes fighting former UFC lightweight badassPat Healy on March 20th for a lightweight title. You can find more info on Sherdog.com.

6 days after this fight, it says hes flying to Abu Dhabi to enter into another fight tournament. Im not an expert o. Abu Dhabi but ive heard they are some of the most prestigest/richest tournaments in the world. Better pay than ufc.

Abu Dhabi is a grappling tournament, no strikes. It's the elite grappling tournament in the world. Alot seriously bad dudes are in that tournament. If you can place it can bring alot of attention. Look up some youtube videos.

I saw his November fight on youtube where he won in 51 seconds. I read somewhere that his day job is a conservation officer for the state of Indiana.

I just went back and watched it on DVR. I think it was a pretty decent showing for him despite losing. It was a split decision, so at least one of the judges had him winning. Overall though, I thought Healy was the winner. Kurt's best chance was the arm lock he got in the first round. Healy looked to be in obvious pain, and I'm not sure how Kurt didn't finish it at that point. As a whole though, I thought Kurt's relative inexperience showed. I would have like to have seen a little bit more standup out of him. His agressiveness actually got him in trouble a couple of times. Healy should have been able to finish Kurt in the third round with the inverted triangle. I couldn't believe Kurt wound up in the exact same situation to start the fourth round, but that is because of the inexperience. And Kurt looked tired in the fifth round and got dominated, and that probably lost him the fight for sure. I think his conditioning is definetly good. He will learn to pace himself better with more experience. He will be back I'm sure, and if he learns lessons from this fight he'll be any even better and tougher fighter in the future.

The judges had Kurt winning Round 1 and Healy winning the rest...
He has never lost so its definitely going to be interesting watching how he responds...
I remember Fedor's quote after losing for the first time in over ten years. "The one who doesn't fall, doesn't stand up." Hopefully Kurt will stand up and get back after it...

Also, that was his first fight with Championship rounds. His previous longest fight was 3 three minute rounds. 16 Minutes of extra fighting is an ass load of extra fighting... So thats something he wasn't use to and maybe unsure of how to prepare for. Now he knows....

Just can't get into a "sport" where the primary, main objective is to permanantly brain damage your opponent. Outside the ring, it's felony assault. Stupid, and shouldn't be condoned in a civilized society.

So how do you feel about football. Football players are intentionally violent and people get injured and brain damaged doing that too. Should society condone that?
