PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY’S DON KAZARIAN NAMED PROMOTER OF THE YEAR!

(Perris, CA, January 17, 2015)   Don Kazarian, longtime promoter at Perris Auto Speedway, was named the “Promoter of the Year,” by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car voting panel.  The announcement was made Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

The poll is conducted by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.  The annual award is voted on by media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers.  Kazarian was named “USAC Promoter of the Year” a decade ago, but this is the first time to receive the coveted honor from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

“Wow, that is nice,” the surprised promoter said when advised of the award on Saturday morning.  “I did not expect this and it is an honor.  This award really goes to everyone on the staff at Perris Auto Speedway.  They all work very hard to make the track and its events the success they are today.”

The award comes at a very special time for Kazarian and the track.  2015 will mark the 20th season of racing at the popular Riverside County racing facility.  In a feat seldom seen in racing today, all 20 of those seasons have been promoted by Kazarian and his family.

For more information on The PAS call: (951) 940-0134.

Camping is available for $25.00 per night for all PAS events.  The campground opens at noon the day before each event.  Tailgating in the spectator parking lot will begin at 1:00 PM for all PAS events as well.

Perris Auto Speedway wants to thank its corporate sponsors for the 2015 season. 1-800LoanMart, All Coast Construction, Amsoil, Ayers Hotel and Spa, BlueLine Rental, Budweiser, CamGuard, Champion Towing, City of Perris, Daytona Boat & RV Storage, Edelbrok, Engine Pro, HD Industries, Hoosier Tires, K&N Engineering, Marjon RV, Pacific Coach Works, Pep Boys, P.I.P.E., Pepsi-Cola, Pick-A-Part Auto Salvage, Running Waters Hospice, Scott Sales, Shaver Racing Engines, Sherwin-Williams,  Sprint Car Driving Experience, Square H, Swedish Speed, Town and Country Golf Carts, Trench Shoring, United States Army, US Foods and Valley Auto Salvage.

Finally - Congrats to a NEVER say die promoter. You never really appreciate something until you can't have it anymore. I miss the PAS, Don, Kim and all the staff terribly. Well deserved

Congratulations Don!

The 20th Season at Perris Auto Speedway is just around the corner, and year after year the quality of the racing has been excellent, and the condition of the facilities remains top notch.  As a fan, I had no clue how much time, money and effort goes into promoting races...and doing it sucessfully in today's Southern California market.  My limited exposure to the promotional side of this sport has opened my eyes, and I now have a much greater appreciation for the amount dedication that is required to keep an operation like Don's going each year.  To provide a venue worthy of hosting professional events with National exposure and International attendance is not an easy thing to do...or a cheap one at that.  You simply have to be a passionate fan with a ton of help or it won't work.

When I moved to Southern California in 1994 I was worried.  At the time, Ascot had been closed for a few years and I was driving up to Central and Northern California to get my racing fix.  Since the first season of PAS in 1996, I have been spoiled with living close to a place that my friends call their home track, and one that has generated quite a buzz ever since!  Scott Daloisio presented me with the opportunity of a lifetime back in 1999, asking me if I would be interested in doing some trackside interviews at the PAS.  I will forever be greatful for his endorsement, and to Don for accepting the idea and allowing me to be a small part of the history of the track.

Thanks for keeping this thing going and providing a home for badass 410 Traditional Sprint Car Racing!  Without PAS, Nonwing 410's would be a thing of the past, instead of a thing of the PAS.

Kudos and Thank You,

Doug Bushey
