Agreed.  It's a shame a young man lost his life due to marijuana.  But the kid and his family also put stewart through weeks of hell and misery himself because of the kids dumb decision to smoke pot before racin.  I will be very pissed off id the family still decides to file a civil suit

Lots of people owe Tony an apology......  The regular media basically convicted Tony without a trial.

The "pot" revelation also sort of explains why Ward would leave his car and walk into traffic like that......

Thank goodness they did take this to the grand jury so that all of this could be made public and Tony cleared with no one that is rational one now understanding it was an accident on Tony's part.

The press pool questions were hard to hear but I think the DA said TS was not tested for substance...not that anyone implied that but it does seem odd that the grand jury case seemed to be a repuditation of Ward's state of mind and not TS actions as was presented in the earlier press conference.

regardless...TS is off the hook for the criminal aspect...onto reparations and back to racing.

I would think this will also help Tony in the civil suit. Kinda hard to say Tony was negligent when Kevin was high enough to impare judgement.....

Agreed. I'd bet the degree to which marijauna played into this is minimal. I'm thinking adrenaline and testosterone were much bigger factors, sadly.

Yeah I agree that smoking probably wouldnt make you do anything to that degree, but still not right to impair yourself when you have other peoples lives in your hands out there as well. I can see this turning into a big argument on weed and its affects, but the fact of the matter is... when you are running 11 seconds around a racetrack with 750hp under you, and other competitors lives are in your hand wether you like it or not, it has no place in your system. Same as why you wouldnt want to push off next to someone who is drunk, or on meds that could inhibit judgement and reaction time.

It doesn't matter if you believe the pot was a contributing factor in this accident or not, I personally do, you give up a lot of rights that you are normally entitled to when you choose to do something illegal. Pot is still illegal.  Would the grand jury excuse him if he had just had a couple beers?  I don't think so, and that's why the pot was  a factor in the decision.

Dumb decision by the kid but I think if he had been stoned while driving he would not have gotten out of the car as opposed to doing what he did.

Pot doesnt make people crazed , stop watching reefer madness. If anything it would have made him calm and too lazy to get out of the car LOL !!!!!

Anways , sad hes dead but I dont think anyone owes an apology. It went to the grand jury and noone was charged. Why apologize ?

No one used pot as a scape goat. Nothing in the grand jury report discussed weed as anything to do with the case. There was just a toxicology scan that resulted in pot showing up.

Get your facts correct.

If Ward read the bible before the incident would the bible be to blame?  Religion has caused many deaths.
