I would say the only one that is major is the 602.  The rest could be changed very easily in a short amount of time. The 602 Needs a battery, and a few other small things that make it different.

All of these but 602 are based on the same SBC size and would be an easy change.  I do not know on 602, is it based on LS engine?

The five engines listed will fit into a standard Sprint Car chassis without any major chassis work.

The 410 / 360 / 358 / 305 will fit without any modifications.

Depending on the configuration, track (location, altitude, temperature), etc ... the crate 602 motor may need the following couple of minor modifications.  Given its simply the addition of a few brackets, these are considered very minor modifications.

  1) a larger radiator than a standard sprint car, so may need brackets added or existing brackets modified.

  2) battery (normally a motorcycle battery), so may need brackets added for it.

We have just finished the first 602 entry level sprint car and it is now in competetion with the 305s at Mercer Raceway.

Rich Farmer from Fremont Raceway are preparing the second car to test in Ohio and Indiana.

The only 2 things you Have to have is a balancing hub as the 602 is externally balanced and replace the oil pan with the one used on a 604 engine. Pace Performance has a hub designed by Don Blackshear that is a nice piece and Bert has one as well that they are using in Oshweken.

We are using the distributer that comes with the engine and you do need a battery.

If you would like more info you can contact me at [email protected]
