Schuchart and Gharst had issues in hot laps and didn’t get a time in.  The track dried quickly after hot laps and Gravel was over eight-tenths of a second over Sam Hafertepe’s track record set in 2010.

Heat one (started): 1. McMahan (1) 2. Darrah (2) 3. Gravel (4) 4. Sides (5) 5. Kaeding (6) 6. Dollansky (8) / 7. Swindell (7) 8. Crockett (3) 9. Johnson (9) 10. Lusk (10)

McMahan led the distance in the 8-lapper to earn a trip to the Dash.  Top six qualified for the A.  Big Game Treestands cars started in row four and battled for the last transfer. Dollansky was able get past Crockett for the spot, with Swindell heading to the B.

Heat two (started): 1. Pittman (1) 2.. Schatz (4) 3. K. Kinser (2) 4. Dobmeier (8) 5. Lasoski (3) 6. Heskin (5) / 7. Juhl (7) 8. Prochaska (6) 9. Ingle (9) DNS – Schuchart

Pittman led flag to flag.  Schatz challenged late.  Dobmeier was the mover, going from 8thto 4th.

Heat three (started): 1. Saldana (2) 2. I. Madsen (1) 3. K. Madsen (4) 4. Sweet (3) 5. Brown (5) 6. S. Kinser (6) / 7. Allen (9) 8. Tatnell (7) 9. Tostenson (8) DNS – Gharst

Saldana got the jump on I. Madsen at the start and led the distance in a mostly single-file affair save an early battled between Brown and Kinser for fifth.

B main (started): 1. Swindell (3) 2. Crockett (1) 3. Juhl (4) 4. Prochaska (2) 5. Tatnell (5) 6. W. Johnson (7) / 7. Lusk (10) 8. Ingle (8) 9. Tostenson (6) 10. Allen (9) DNS – Schuchart, Gharst

Crockett led early in the 12-lapper before Swindell took the point on lap five.  Juhl was impressive in his first career 410 start in getting by Prochaska late for third.

Dash (started): 1. Saldana (1) 2. Schatz (5) 3. Sweet (2) 4. Lasoski (3) 5. K. Madsen (4) 6. McMahan (7) 7. Gravel (6) 8. Pittman (8)

Saldana led the six-lap distance, while Schatz moved by Sweet with two to go for second. K. Madsen made a late bid for fourth and a starting spot in row two, but fell short.

A main (started): 1. Saldana (1) 2. Schatz (2) 3. Sweet (3) 4. Lasoski (4) 5. McMahan (6) 6. K. Madsen (5) 7. Pittman (8) 8. Darrah (10) 9. Gravel (7) 10. K. Kinser (11) 11. I. Madsen (12) 12. Crockett (9) 13. Sides (13) 14. Brown (15) 15. Heskin (14) 16. S. Kinser (18) 17. Dollansky (21) 18. Swindell (19) 19. Juhl (24) 20. Tatnell (23) 21. Dobmeier (20) 22. Prochaska (17) 23. Johnson (22) 24. Kaeding (16)

Juhl elected to start on the tail.  Saldana led the 30-lap non-stop feature from the outset. Kaeding dropped out on lap one, and Johnson dropped at the halfway point.  He would be the only car lapped in an event that unfortunately saw rubber-down conditions from the outset.  Schatz, who won here last year, pulled up on Saldana a time or two, but the race never got into lapped traffic on the half-mile.  It was the second Friday win in a row for Saldana.

Glad to see TK has started in the 59 car.  Just curious Bill as to why he pulled in after one lap???  Thanks for the report.

TK saved his tires and wear and tear on the engine. There was no passing.

Thank you.  I should have realized that when the "hard charger" only passed four cars!!!  I wonder if he passed them or if they fell out???  Wink

After last years clusterflock at Spencer, and the last few trips to Jackson, its painfully obvious that SLS is not capable of preparing a track for a race of this stature..  Hire Knoxville prep crew when in the area...... At least give the fans a chance at their moneys worth.

Except for the fact that SLS had a great track at I-80 Speedway last week.  It was a great track and a great race so there are other factors involved.

SLS promotes World of Outlaws races.  The tracks do their own prep.  Track prep is a lot like farming, take your best guess and hope you're right.  The biggest difference between farming and prepping dirt tracks is that if farmers guess wrong they collect crop insurance.  If dirt tracks guess wrong they take it in the shorts on dirt track message boards from armchair quarterbacks.  wink

We've been to I-80 once and the track was a piece of glass.  That was the night Kevin Gobrecht was killed.  Never went back

Sorry Stan but at Spencer last year, the head man of SLS was running the water truck and he overwatered that track big time. He also ran a grader to try and clean up the mess he made. So, tracks do not necessarily do their own track prep.

We can fake a moon landing but racing tire manufactures refuse to produce a tire that won't transfer rubber to the dirt racing surface. When will they figure out the people aren't coming back after rubberdown races and just because they have a contract doesn't mean everything is OK with shitty follow the leader races?

I love dryslick/ does that have to lead to rubberdown?  It's when natural rubber was replaced with synthetic that tracks took rubber. That's it/ I'm starting a race tire business.  In China.

There was 30 sprints and 8 hobby stocks.  They couldn't prep a track for 38 total race cars...  bs

The high friday in Jackson was 77, dew was 35, max wind gust was 24mph.  I've seen far worse weather days that produced good racetracks.

Bottom line is SLS leased the track, told the track prep guys what to do and when to do it...

Stan-SLS promotes and Larry Hillerud determines the track prep, specifically the amount of water to put down.  While Larry does a very solid job, he flat out missed the call on Friday.
