2014 Season Kicks Off All Day Saturday at 81 Speedway!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – April 22, 2014 - After hosting a couple huge special events, the time has come for the weekly divisions at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas to hit the track and kick off their 2014 race season as the Kwik Shop/Dillons Foods/Kroger Accounting/March of Dimes season opener takes place during the annual “All Day Sucka” this Saturday.
Gates open at noon with qualifying heat races starting at 2:00 PM for the following divisions: modified, AAA modified, rookie modified, street stock, thumper, hornet, youth hornet, and mod lites. The 305-ci sprinters will also be competing and will run a full program of heat races and a championship feature.
After the Saturday afternoon session is complete there will be a tailgate party scheduled for approximately 3:30 PM.
Then at approximately 4:00 PM there will be a bean bag tournament that is limited to sixteen, two person teams with a $10 entry per team. To enter, please call the 81 Speedway office (316) 755-1781 or sign up during the afternoon prior to the event. The first place prize is a $25 gift certificate to Kwik Shop for each player.
The at 7:00 PM it is back to racing atop the three-eighths mile clay oval with consolation and championship features for the above mentioned divisions plus a complete program of heat races and championship features for the 360-ci sprint car division.
Also throughout the day, there will be a silent auction benefiting the March of Dimes. Items that will be auctioned are the following:
