And I'm going to be in down around Austin Texas for a few weeks. Any racetracks out that way I need to hit up. The only one that I'm slightly familiar with is Devil's Bowl, but also looking for others. Thanks.

I live in Austin and the two closest tracks are Cottonbowl Speedway in Paige and Heart-o-Texas Speedway in Waco. Cottonbowl (about 45 mins outside of Austin) is a nice track that is brand new and I would approximate the size somewhere between a 1/3 and 3/8ths with progressive banking and full concrete wall all the way around. The place is pretty good. Heart-o-Texas (about 1.5 hours outside Austin) is a 1/4 mile with pretty steep banking no walls in the turns (reminds me of Chico) old bleachers but alot of history in the place. Sprints can be pretty good there.
They just had ASCS gulf south sprints at Waco this past Friday (thats the normal night the track run events) so there wont be any sprints until June 6th. Cottonbowl runs 305 wing sprints as a semi regular division and the next race for that class is May 10th. On May 23rd they have South Texas Late Models & ASCS 360 Sprints. The show on the 23rd is one I'm definitely going to.
I drove up to Devils Bowl for the WoO and actually wished I had just skipped the first night of the WoO and went to Waco instead. Devils Bowl isnt a good wing sprint car track in my opinion. High speed freight train. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the bullring racing I grew up with in CA. I miss the sprint car scene I had in CA as the scene here in Texas is pretty sparce. There are simply way too many mortifieds and tintop divisions. I'm optimistic that Cottonbowl Speedway will book more 360 shows. It would be a great Outlaws track, reminds me of Tulare in shape and size.
"Winged or non-winged its all about
the sprint cars for me!"
