What a great race!  Classic battle in lapped traffic by two of the best that have ever turned laps at Perris Auto Speedway.  Excited for the rest of the season!

Rob.

Noones saying it.

I saw the schedule, so I know it wasn't planned out like that. My biggest thing is the new track for the CLS is a bit dubious right now... I have no answers so I will leave it at that.

So Friday I was in Tulare saw a  good show was home by a little after midnight. I live in Orange. Saturday  went to the PAS saw a great main event. Still got home a little after midnight . 220 miles from Tulare, 55 miles from the PAS. Makes you go hmmmmm.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Kinda curious what the fans thought of the racing on the Hybrid track for the Lightning sprints. Good, bad or No opinion ????  Be honest but nice lol

I thought it was dangerous. have to ask the drivers what they thought to that end...

Othewise, I thought it made for a little bit more side by side.

Has to be a way to prep the entry to one so its a bet less dodgy on opening laps and restarts. Super hard for the track work to be done on that area of the racetrack.

to be honest I don't like them on any track but thats just me (I'm not thrilled with the seniors and the young guns either) I'm sure they are a load of fun to race but hard to watch and I also understand that support classes are necessary but i think I would rather see a taxi class as support.

sorry bout being honest (and opinionated) but you asked.

I think perris did just fine with there show.  I watched tulare on dirt vision friday night and final race ended about 1030.  perris ended about 1115 ish.  Perris  had more field fillers but kept things moving.  we are talking 45 min to hr difference.   The racing on the track was unbelievably good and would watch it all night if they let me.  Both were amazing shows and see nothing to change.  As far as new cls goes is another story.  I found racing entertain but 1&2 outright dangerous.  The opening into pits can get bad in minute there.

Ok, since no one else will ask the question. Why couldn't the seniors/young guns/CLS mains be run after the USAC/CRA feature? I understand the multiple classes from the business prospective (back gate $$) and the support class racing is entertaining, but after watching the multitude of fans leaving before the USAC main some of them very vocal with their dipleasure with watching the time go by and the track deteriorating with the support classes running first one wonders........

To answer your question rbjr..... Everyone deserves to have there time under the lights no matter what racing class you may run. These people that run these support classes are entitled to there time on the track they pay to race just like the USAC guys do.

My own personal opinion is this if you go to a race track to watch a race then don't get upset because they don't run the race format the way you want them to. The way I see it is these people that were complaining would of left anyways if they ran the USAC sprints first. They were only there to watch the USAC sprints, I can understand that there are some people that don't like to watch the support classe's. But it comes down to this there will always be some form of support class that runs at just about any dirt track.

Don't get me wrong here I love my 410 sprints but I am also a race fan. So to me being a race fan means that I support any class that wants to race but that is just me. When I go to the race's I go knowing that I will be there for the rest of my day.

If you want to go to the races then go and have a great time but don't get upset because your not home in bed by 10:00 pm if you want to be in bed by 10 then go to a movie. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here just stating my opinion on what you asked about.

Real race fans don't go home till the lights go out !!  wink

That attitude is exactly why the sport does not prosper, if you run support classes last they are still on the track racing but the sprint car fan is not being held hostage. Run the best class on the best track period the support classes are just that SUPPORT CLASSES. Some real race fans have kids.

Yes, the headliner should always be 1st on the card. just like concerts and every other sporting event. /s

Why you compare a sprint car race to a concert?

When I was a kid my favorite part of the night was after the last event when security opened the gates so that the fans got to come in the pits I remember getting to run the track, walk the pits, meet the drivers sit in the cars etc, I really didn't care what time it was lol..  and I usually had to get drug out of the place finally...  That was always my favorite part until I got to climb in a car and start racing.  As a race car driver I have always enjoyed the fans coming in the pits after the races and getting to talk to people and let the kids climb in the car...  If you encourage everybody to leave before the last event you pretty much ruin that part of the night.     Just my opinion !!!

To respond to jc6 and Raceway Video I would say this; I am a "real" racefan and always stay to the end, but the real problem is not the "real" racefan, it's the fact that there are not enough new fans to replace the older ones who no longer go to the races on a regular basis. I always try to bring new people to the races with me in the hope they will become addicted like the rest of us and perpetuate the sport. There is nothing wrong with the support classes but to expect a non die hard fan (or anyone with kids) to sit through a 5-6 hour show in order to see the USAC/CRA main (the reason they paid their $25 for) is not realistic if you want to grow the fan base beyond the "real" racefans. I love Perris and totally support the Kasarians for all they do but I'm just sayin...... I'm not a naysayer, just want to see the sport we love prosper.

Well said flash21 this is what i was trying to say but Old Grady took it and made it sound like I had a attitude about it. But to each is own I feel the way I do and he or she feels the way they do.. If I take my kids to the races then that is what we are going to do is watch some racing. If i am worried about keeping little Joe out past 10 pm then I will take him to the park !! By the way some of our best Sprint car stars have come from support classes..
