I am so sick and tired of people asking "Is there an entry list for such and such race."  How freaking stupid are you people that ask???  If the promoters knew they would be as happy as shit!  There is no way of knowing who will be there until the day of the race and the racers are checked in.  How hard is that to figure out?  If it's a World of Outlaw race then the regulars will be there but beyond that it is a TOTAL guess.  Same with the All-Stars, ASCS, IRA and ANY OTHER race.  To ask about an entry list is one of the stupidest questions out there.  If you are looking for a certain driver then go to their web-site, facebook page or twitter page and find out.  If you found this forum on the net I would think you would be smart enough to fing google or BING.  Do a little research before you make yourself look stupid by asking the idiotic quesion of the entry list.  WOW!!!

In Australia, you have to Nominate for a race, so you can get on a webpage, and see the nominations and know exactly who will be there, some of the people on here are from Australia, and are used to these types of entry lists, and I also know, alot of promoters in the USA will call around to alot of drivers/teams and ask if they plan on coming, and also try to compile a list to get an idea of a car count during bigger events, this list normally does not make it to the web, with the exception of the Nationals, Short track nationals, ect. ect.. but you ask on here, you never know that particular promotor may just be browsing and pop in and give a listif he/she has one!

Eagle Raceway in Nebraska posts entry lists on here all the time.

Darin Short always tries to with races he markets as well - be it the old sprint shows at Cowtown Speedway or existing shows in North Texas.

Last fall on October 10th weekend - I did entry lists for the Inaugural Twister Nationals Midget race at I44 Riverside in OKC. The Oil Medics sponsored the event, and also sponsored a non-wing 305 show in Boyd, Texas that weekend and Payton Pierce was putting some entry info on here.

I know it's not all the WoO, ASCS, and All Star shows like you were mentioning man - but there are some of us that do put entry lists on here so it's not such a radical notion for fans to ask or wander aloud. Decrying them is a bit harsh - not that many legit fans of dirt oval open wheel racing like there used to be, the ones who come here hoping to find some info shouldn't be run off.

Having said that - you're right - Facebook is where to find 90% of what you're looking for, but places like this can still be cool and serve a purpose for more engaged fans. Places like this should organize and market as such.

Wow! I guess you dont look forward to the release of the Chili Bowl Entry List every December then huh lol? Good grief dude, relax. You do understand the premise of events that have a Registration Fee right? Some major events require the driver/car pay an Entry Fee to race in the event. In these cases there will be an actual Entry List gathered prior to the event date. If your a promoter, you would be an idiot not to publicize the Pre-Registered Drivers in your major event to inform fans on who plans to be there. Most fans understand its not 100% that a Pre-Registered Driver will be at the said event due to occasional unforeseen circumstances, but in general, they are pretty accurate. Why is this such a nuisance to you? If you have no interest in viewing an Entry List, then so be it lol, why bash others who may have interest in viewing one??? I hope you dont have high blood pressure lol, if this bothers you this much, your doomed fella!

I'm sick of People who getting on here and bashing others. Aksing a question is VERY SMART thats how we learn things. Bashing people is stupid, it show how small minded you are. If you have a diferent opinion that is different.

IBRACIN does a great job around here of reserching who is going to be around here at the shows and lots of times after he got done i made the 150 mile trip to watch. Announcers are a big part of a show and they need to be telling who is on the track for hot laps. Ive went to shows where the announcer didnt know who won the A main. OBTW they heard about it on the message board the next day...its part of the show or how about this ..  I paid $15 or$20 and they cant tell me whos here. All beating the dumb basturd would done was get me an assult charge.

If a person has had the opportunity to put together a racing event, the first thing they will tell you is the massive commitment of time it takes to do it properly.

Between all of the event packaging, flyers/posters, web banners, digital billboard ads, press releases, web/FB pages, driver registration, driver questions, emails, texts, calls; you can easily get into triple digits for hours before you even know it.

And with the cost of travel for fans and teams, most want a 'guarantee' of what they're going to get before they leave; thus a pre-entry list is a necessity unless it's a 'pre-packaged' race...like the WoO, for example.

But even then, if you don't tell fans in advance who they can expect - I can guarantee you what I can expect, an endless amount of calls, texts, emails; etc. from fans wanting to know.

A pre-entry list is just one component though. Fully disclosed purses, detailed rules and procedures, times, prices; etc. are all essential to pull off a successful event.

So it's a lot easier to just do it all, than wait for the inevitable.

And that's not a complaint, just part of the job - if you want to do a good job keeping fans and teams informed invested in an event.

Hope some of you can make it to http://www.darinshort.com/world.html this coming weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. It's not a sprint show, but there will be well over 200 quality cars racing there in three divisions; discount tickets are available at all north Texas O'Reilly locations. NOAA currenly showing generally dry conditions with daytime highs in the 60's and 70's.

I hate it when you get to the bottom of the bag of potato chips and they are small and broken.

I also dislike resturant chairs with arms.

This is a pretty good place to ask about racing, chances are someone will know.
