Bill W when are we going to see a list of drivers running Knoxville?

Steve S when are we going to see a list of drivers running the IRA?

Thanks on advance.

The winter is getting a little long and just want to look ahead to the race season and see who will be racing where.

You don't get an entry list. Rumor and some personal contact is the only way for Knoxville. Who shows  up will race. What's the hurry, almost 2 months away. Take last years point standings and go from there unless you know some quit or went somewhere else.

The best way to find out who's going to race is to sit by the pit gate with a camera and note pad.  Unless it's a series with contracted drivers like the WoO there are never any guarantees.  As you pointed out Jah42, racing is still at least two months in the future so what's the hurry?  Do people actually decide whether to attend a night of racing in Knoxville based on who's going to be racing?  I don't get down there often but it's never a bad night at Knoxville regardless of who is racing.

The bigger question this year is when is all this snow going to melt and the ground thaw out so the clay doesn't roll up in the turns until the end of June.  Up here in Minnesota we're heading into another sub zero week and it's darned near the end of February.  I heard on the news that this winter is already on record as our seventh coldest and is shure to crack the top five this week. Most tracks in central and southern Minnesota and west Central Wisconsin schedule their openers around the first week of April.  If I was a betting man I'd say it ain't going to happen on schedule this year.  In our neck of the woods Sprint shows generally don't start until early May.  Anyone who has seen Late Models and Modifieds bouncing around breaking parts on a rough track that still has frost deep in the ground can understand why our promoters are hesitant to run Sprints too early.  Generally the tracks up here don't come around until May.  If we get a rainy spring on top of the heavy snow and deep frost it's going to be a mess.

Knoxville is always a good show regardless of who pulls in the back gate.  I'm 300 miles north and don't get down there often so when I get that opportunity I snap it up every chance I get regardless of who will be there.  That's why I don't relate well to these "who's going to be there" threads.  wink

I want to know who is running for points at Knoxville and with the IRA.

Like you I just want to go to the races .

I like to see who the regulars are and then see who could drop in on them like Brown at Knoxville or Travis Whitney with the IRA

You can check Brian Browns web site to see when he will be at Knoxville. Also check ibracin.com's silly season page. It list's a lot of drivers plans.

I just wonder what took the 83 team so damn long to launch Sexton.  If that is even the case here.  Blake Nimee and Jordan Goldsberry are ruored to join for a full year, Scott Biertzer may be back also.  Brian Kristan is also ruored to be running 100% of the shows.  These rumors were collected from just searching around.

I can confirm Nimee is planning on running the full schedule, teaming up with Rusty Motorsports for the year. Heard the same above info about Scott B, Goldsberry and Kristan. Ben Schmidt will also be joining full time. He will be up from the MSA ranks where he all but dominated for a number of years. He had some good showings at the end of the IRA season last year (minus equipment issues). I hadn't heard any info about Kertscher or the #83 team and Mr. Wreckcitement. Shaping up to be a pretty good sounding year

In regards to IRA, our 2014 membership applications go on-line tomorrow. Upon receiving them back will be only real way for us to know who will be competing, and even then it's tough to say if full or partial schedules. So anything we say now would be speculation. However based on our facebook page, and what has been told to us, we are extremely confident that 2014 should be a great year. IRA has always been fortunate in regards to car count and has boasted one of sprint car racing's highest for years. We fully believe our numbers will be going up even more, and in quality too. We'll update our website throughout the month of March, though typically we get the bulk of our membership apps back at (or near) our March 19th membership meeting. Membership fee cost increases begin in April, so we'll have a pretty good idea by the end of March. We're more than confident that you'll see most of the familiar faces we've had, plus several new ones that will be chasing points and/or who are aiming at our 75% participation requirement in order to be point fund eligible. Thanks for your interest, let's hope things warm up soon, and stay tuned for what we believe will be a big year for IRA.

That was a good car.  Too bad they wasted so much time with a bad drive.  Goedon would have won a bunch in that thing.

Can not wait for the season to start

By the way you have the best one day show in the midwest with the Jerry Richert Memorial just wish a few more Knoxville guys would come up and run for the $5,000 to win plus a lot more.

That def is a great show! And that place is BAD BAD fast. Maybe seeing as how a KVille regular won the show last year, it will draw a few more this year. One can only hope.
