From IBRACN.com............ After checking with some sources in California, I have confirmation on the information. As of today, the King of the West sprint car series has been sold by Dan Simpson. Brent Kaeding and John Prentice (Ocean Speedways promotor) has bought the series and will take over the controls of the series immediately. The announcement came last night in the drivers meeting at the race in Nevada. The series was taken over by Dan Simpson at the end of the 2010 racing season. Things appeared to be headed in the right direction. Car counts were up and racing was good. How soon things change. Several races have been cancelled during the year this summer and a lot of rumors have been out there regarding the series. Now the troubled series is under new management and we will see where it goes from here.

My thanks to Dan Simpson, as well as Gary, George and everyone behind the scenes at KWS, for keeping 410 sprint car racing alive. Things have not worked out as they hoped, I'm sure. But it was not for lack of effort or good intentions.

I hope this "new group" will find a way to use Gary for their PR work. He has done an excellent job in his work with the KWS.
Gary, thanks for all your efforts.

Agreed! Gary is a class act and does his craft very well. If they're smart, they'll keep him right where he's at..........

Gary stated on Facebook that he was staying on board with the new management team this next year. Huge plus for the new mgmt team having him on board IMO.
Where's my beer or scotch on the rocks? God-damn it! 40
plus years of dirt track racing in these old veins might
get me condemned by the EPA.
