Does anyone know the situation with KWS? With the Nevada debacle, no internet shows etc. Is there a management change in the future as rumored? They don't seem to be on solid ground.

I'm quite certain some people already "know" but I don't think you will get one word posted on this forum!

I know there have been many changes but I think everything will be ok for the rest of this season! There are some big races coming up and hopefully they get good car counts! As far as next year I don't think anyone really knows what to expect so only time will tell
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Instead of wondering when KWS will fail, How about being supportive of the work they have done. These guys have done there best for everyone I am sure. I wonder how ca 410 racing would have been if Dan Simpon had not stepped up. I am sure he could use some support and appreciation. Just saying.

I suppose that is the end of that. I personnally appreciate all Simpson and Thomas efforts. Every one else should as well.

Yes they should. It's a lot of HARD work, and they have really given it all of their effort. Thanks to Dan, Gary and everyone else involved for giving us the last four years of great 410 racing! Hats off to you guys..........

My post said nothing about the KWS failing! I am a very optimistic and positive person who has been supporting 410 racing since I was a young kid! The Thomas family are friends of mine and I know how much Gary and his family do for the series and I am also very greatful to Dan for taking over the GSC and forming the KWS! I have enjoyed every race I was able to go this year and I am not one to complain. I know that Brandon and George have left the series and that is why there is no internet show but hopefully the show will go on next year!

Who knows what's going on. The only KWS race left I'm going to is the Cotton Classic (maybe the Stockton race in Nov). The only races on my schedule are the Johnny Key, Gold Cup, Antioch WoO, a Petaluma show, a Watsonville show, Cotton Classic, Trophy Cup & Turkey Night.

My schedule is a little different than yours but you may want to include the Bud ovals at the PAS.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

My post wasn't directed at you Kelly. It was directed at all of the others that constantly come on here and bash the KWS. I've never heard you do that........

I'm not wondering when the KWS will fail, but wondering who will be running the KWS next year? WIll it still Be Dan Simpson or will it be somone else. If it will continue to be Dan Simpson, i have to wonder how differently the schedule will look. I dont think many will consider the decision to race less at Chico and Pville for more races in Tahoe/Reno a huge success. I have the same curiosity about what next season will look like under new leadership, if the KWS is in fact sold, which it is rumored to be. I am thankful for 410 racing, but i also have valid concerns with its future, based on how this season has progressed.

My guess is - this is just my guess and NOTHING else - that Dan Simpson is presently trying to get as much $$ as he can for the series from whoever might be interested in buying it. Time will tell but occasionally I get it right.

To sell it and get as much $$ as possible, and wanting that amount to be something, would require that you had something to sell. I would be very hard to see where KWS could actually have any true assets.

Maybe it's just me but our 410 racing hasn't seemed the same since the demise of NARC!

Simpson isn't exactly a sprint car guy and the added dates for 2013 and conflicts with Northern California tracks who have their own schedules proved to be too big a hurdle to overcome. Gotta give those guys credit however, they reached for the moon and gave it a hell of a run. In the end, racing is about racing, not showmanship and sideshows. I think 410 racing will still be around as someone will attempt to resucitate it, but its going to be a tough row to hoe as Northern California doesn't have many 410 teams to choose from. Maybe the Central Valley somewhere needs to be home base since there is plenty of money to go around down there. I'm assuming KWS won't be around next year. Hope I'm wrong. Gary and George and Dan did a hell of a job trying to put these guys back on the front page. Maybe tried to go too big.

As someone who grew up watching 410's in Cali... Anyone else remember the days of; Golden State Challenge; NARC; Chico; Hanford; Baylands and SanJose all running 410's at the same time in the mid to late 80's? The WoO races were always awesome with all the legends of our sport locked in an epic battle up and down the state. Those were the days.
I wish the next person or group to run the 410 series the best of luck.
One day I would really love to fly into San Jose and see a sprintcar track somewere in the area that runs only 410's. Maybe the NARC house track with an California dirt auto history musium. I know it will most likely it will never happen and it's just wishful thinking, but it sure would be nice.

San Jose Speedway only ran 410's once Baylands closed down.
