Kasey Kahne is coming back to Lernerville Speedway in less than a week!

By Eric J. Westendorf

Sarver, PA (July 13, 2007) It's been public knowledge for quite some time now, but Kasey Kahne's presence at Lernerville Speedway is less than a week away! The announcement resulted in over one thousand advanced ticket purchases for the Cleveland Brothers Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XVI. As announced last Friday night, Lernerville Speedway general manager Gary Risch Jr. has added an extra incentive for those whom purchased their tickets in advance. 10 advanced purchase tickets will be drawn the night of the race, and the ticket holders will have the privilege of meeting NASCAR superstar Kasey Kahne.

The last time Kasey Kahne was at the Lernerville Speedway, he was standing in Victory Lane after winning his first career All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car race at the Earl & Dave Bauman Memorial in 1999. Kahne has come a long way since winning his first All Star race on that September evening in Sarver, PA. His resume now boasts seven career Nascar wins and the 2004 Rookie of the Year Award. He has quickly become one of the sports most marketable and recognized superstars. Now he's coming back to his roots, so to speak, for the Don Martin Memorial on Tuesday, July 17.

Kasey Kahne will serve as Grand Marshall for the 16th annual event, which remains the highest paying single day show on the World of Outlaws Sprint tour at $30,000-to-win. He will also be watching the race as a concerned car owner. Following in the footsteps of Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne owns a World of Outlaws Sprint Car team. His driver, Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, IN, drives the Open Joist/JEI Chassis #9. Saldana has nine wins on the Outlaw tour this season and is engaged with reigning Outlaw champion Donny Schatz for the series point lead. Saldana also holds the Lernerville Speedway track record of 12.334 seconds

Silver Cup tickets will be on sale this Friday evening during Fab Four racing and continue to be available by contacting the Lernerville Speedway office at (724) 353-1511 during normal business hours. Again, only advanced purchase tickets will be eligible for the drawing to meet Kasey Kahne on race night. Reserved seats for the Tuesday July 17th event cost $32 for adults, $29 for seniors, and $27 for ages 17 & under. General admissions is $29 for adults, $26 for seniors, $24 for students 11-17, while children 10 & under are admitted FREE! Pit Passes will be $35 for DIRT Members or $40 for non-DIRT Members.

In addition to Kasey Kahne Racing's Joey Saldana and Reigning Series Champion and defending Silver Cup winner Donny Schatz; 20-time Outlaw Champion Steve Kinser, former Outlaw champion Danny "The Dude" Lasoski, and Tony Stewart Racing's Paul McMahan will be in action trying to claim the $30,000 winner's share of the Silver Cup XVI purse.

You then will be able to relive the action the following Sunday July 22 at noon on ESPN2 as the race will be rebroadcast as part of the "Summer of Money" series. ESPN2 airs a different World of Outlaws "Summer of Money" race each Sunday, times may vary.

Kasey Kahne is not the only NASCAR star scheduled to make an appearance at the Action Track this season. Lernerville Speedway will be hosting its first "Stars of NASCAR Night" on Thursday August 16. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart and one of the sport's biggest personalities Ken Schrader will be racing their own Late Models against local and regional Late Model racers for a $3000 payday. Other NASCAR drivers will be announced shortly.

For more details and ticket information for either event, log on to www.lernerville.com or call the track office at (724) 353-1511.
