Haven't see it posted here yet, but saw the Civil War schedule on facebook. I see this is a "tentative" schedule? I thought Ocean Speedway was going to be back on the schedule. Anyone know why that doesn't look like its going to happen again this season?

I enjoy the watching the Civil War series, but it makes them look bad when they dodge the Taco Bravo series just to avoid an inevitable beatdown at Ocean Speedway.

I remember in the early 90's when the series first started, Kevin Urton driver of the 14 car told me he wanted the series to race at San Jose, but Randy Hannagan was giving everyone such a beating, the series wouldn't go to that track. Sounds oddly familiar.

Most of the Civil War races I went to back then was at Grass Valley or Petaluma, both places had good carcounts, but the races were missing the topnoch cars and drivers of San Jose.

I'm glad they finally decited to go to Hanford. The new crop of kids are fast down there.

The only way the Civil War series will be a true Civil War series is if they have an equil amout of north and south races (not most of them at Placerville). Make Placerville, Marysville and Chico represent the North, and Petaluma, Watsonville and Hanford represent the South.

This is my opinion after watching this series the past 20+ years.

Prentice is nobody's fool. He gets 20+ cars a night for his shit purse and has to pay nearly double that for an additional 5-10 cars? He probably didn't want one.

Interesting point you have. What is the purse requirement for a Civil War show? I recall, last year, Prentice said something like he would pay an additional $1000 to a non taco Bravo regular if they can come to Ocean and beat the regulars. I wonder if he will thrown out that challenge again. Driver i recall being there the most last season with a serious shot at winning, not on the Johnny Key Classic date, was Andy Forsberg. I know that guy will race anywhere against anyone, and have great respect for that. Saw Steven Tiner at the end of the season as well. Would be neat to see drivers come in for an additional $1k on the line to win for them.

If I recall Civil War pays 2k to win and 200 to start. Ocean pays 1-1250 to win I think and 150 to start. It's not a criticism.

You would have to search far and wide to find a nicer guy than Andy Forsberg. It is true...he will race anything, anywhere...just let him know where and when. Would love to see him get a crack at the "big traveling series!" Smile

what do p-ville, marysville, petaluma pay for a weekly 360 payout?

the civil war series is supposed to be the premier traveling 360 series in the area, so i would expect them to have a higher payout.

as i recall, last year it was the civil war drivers who didn't want to run at ocean, not due to prentice.

Petaluma has been $1500 and $200/start for the last few years. - Ron

Ocean speedway would LOVE to have a few civil war races, I have tried for TWO years get a race. Was told they don't like racing Friday night!...my thought don't like racing for 5th place. I will pay $1500 plus the $1500 1st place money $3000 win if any of the top 5 in 2012 points can win a FRIDAY night race... Now why don't all the tracksv that have civil war races give the top 5 in Taco Bravo points $1000 extra if they can show up and win?? Yes Andy is a class act and happy for his support over the years..

I can't wait for the Pitstop USA, Taco Bravo and Rebel Cup sprintcar seasons to start. Like every year, I will be at most if not all of the Watsonville shows. When 410's are not running close buy on Saturday's, I'll be at Petaluma or Hanford to scoutout some of the up-and-coming tallent in our State.

Goodluck trying to win at Hanford with Tarlton and Meyers running there everyweek. If Bud Kaeding shows up, everyone is in trouble. He has Kings figured out better than them all.

That should be easy money for the "Premiere CW Series" You only have to be Shane Golobic,Tommy Tarlton,Brad Furr,Bud Keading,BK,Justin Sanders and a couple of up and comers Scelzi and Macedo.....No big deal..

Uh oh. How many cars do you guys claim? The Kaedings aren't full timers. Tarlton is a Rebel Cup guy and not a full timer either as of last year. This looks like another Posse thread all of a sudden. Abreu and Larson too?

Both Keadings ran about half the races and Tarlton only missed 2 races all year so I don't know what you are talking about . Go to a race before you pop off.

then what are the CW guys hiding from? are they afraid of forsberg, because he doesn't mind running ocean.

drivers were coming from AZ to run ocean, but the "traveling" CW guys can't make one or two shows?

so do you think any of the CW super stars will take the risk of being totally dominated by the ocean guys, for a cool 3k?

what's the matter mcfly, are you CHICKEN? wink

all kidding aside, i know everyone at ocean would welcome anyone with open arms and would be glad to see them. so it should be a no brainer for one or two of the top 5 CW teams to come take a shot at the bounty prentice has put up. my money, and most likely johns money, will be on forsberg to to take it.
