Hi all as you can see I'm a huge Sprintcar fan mainly winged from the UK I'm after organising a trip for 2013 I've attended Florida for the past 10 years and Knoxville for last 3years, I've already booked my Florida trip but is there another week which compares to Knoxville? We like to go racing every night were over if possible, that's why we now love Knoxville.
If there's any serious recommendations please let me know! Or am i just better off booking knoxville again!?
Thanks for reading
Regards Ben

I would suggest Ohio or PA speedweek.

In my opinion, there's nothing that compares to Knoxville.
That said, the Outlaws West Coast tour is awesome (lots of travelling, but you get to see alot of the west coast and the beautiful scenery). Start in Washington state, end in California. I went this year and saw 9 Outlaw shows (you'd have to check the schedule when it comes out to see if it's a similar schedule) and another non-sanctioned show and could have gone to another over an 12 day period.

I've got one . First weekend you do the cotton classic the following thurs,Friday,Saturday you do the TROPHY CUP. By far the best race in the states . Both races are from usually 10/13 thru 10/20 . Or do the chili bowl in January. Well worth the trip and weather is never a problem because it is in doors.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

If you like great racing in a unique atmosphere check out the Chili Bowl. Yes, they are midgets not winged sprints but a lot of the big sprint car names are there.

Just fly to San Jose California, I'll pick you up and you can hang with us for a month or so. We will travel to two races per weekend, hang with high profile drivers and you will meet friends for life.
If you do come durring the outlaw westcoast swing, ascs tour or trophy cup, there will be more than just two races per week.

my non-expert opinion is that you'd do well to go to the PA speedweeks. a big plus is that the flight is shorter. flying all the way to California would be nuts. besides Volusia & Knoxville, this is probably the best quality & depth of teams you could ever hope to see in one area.

I'd say Indy Sprint Week based on what I've seen and heard. It's at the top of my to do list.

For winged racing, the week of Knoxville is hard to beat. If you are looking to do something different, the USAC speed weeks are good shows. I am particular to the Midget week because many tracks will have non wing sprints as the support class.
If you are truely looking for something different, I would also look at the Late Model Summer Hell Tour. 27 nights in 33 days (or something close to that) It would also allow you to see a different part of the states and see a lot of different tracks.

You have to see a race at Eldora! Once you have been there, you will know what I mean.

The Doty / Knight before the Royal & Kings Royal is a weekend every Sprint Car fan should experience, 2013 will be my 10th straight year. If I had to choose only one though it would "hands down no brainer" the 10 day week of the Knoxville Nationals for me.
If Wings are your thing, Skip a year at Knoxville or Florida and try out Ohio in July. It's a bitter sweet decision but either way your going to see some hard racing.

Come to PA/OH during the month of money. King's Royal weekend, followed by Lernerville Silver Cup (2 30 lap features) on Tuesday night. Then finish off the week with the Summer Nationals at the Grove. Great racing against some of the best in the country.

My reco is fly to Ohio/Indiana in July. You have the Brad Doty Classic & Kings Royal, then the non-wangers with Indiana Sprint Week. Great camping at each event and you get to see some of the best bullrings in the country.
Another good trip is the fall WoO west coat tour. You start at Skagit (Washington) and work you way down the coast to the Gold Cup at Chico (Cali). Great camping, great fans, high car counts and some of the best scenery in the country.
PA speedweek is ok but the tracks are huge and racing is spreadout. I would rather do Ohio Speed week due to closer racing on the bullrings, larger car counts and the "anyone can win" with the events. In PA, it's very tough for outsiders to come in and win .

I have always looked forward to the week leading up to the Kings Royal. Tuesday you have the Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway which Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Dave Blaney, and a lot of top sprint car drivers race at along with the big block modified guys. Wednesday is the Brady Doty classic which is usually one of the best outlaw races of the year. Thursday is the rain date for the Doty then Friday and Saturday is Kings Royal weekend. After that the USAC guys usually have speedweeks in Indiana. The next Tuesday is usually the Twin Cups at Learnerville which isnt too terribly far away either. Let me know what you decide.

Normally, I'd recommend the Indiana Sprint Week, which would include Gas City, Kokomo, Bloomington, etc., but I'm here to tell you that you should stay away from non-wing racing. Why?
Once you experience non-wing racing in Central Indiana, you will never be happy with the wing racing you've been watching.

Yeah, exactly. Come on out and check out Indiana Sprint week. No wings, just great racing. I can pretty much guarantee that you won't be the only Brits attending, either.
