SIOUX FALLS, SD (November 28, 2007) I-80's Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, NE., will once again be the official opener of the ASCS Northern Plains and Midwest Regional race seasons on Friday and Saturday April 13th and 14th.

Last season, we saw the only rain out of the 2006 season for both regions as the Friday night show was washed out by steady rains on Thursday and Friday. But by Saturday, sunny skies greeted a record sprint car count for the ½ mile oval as the NCRA bunch joined in to swell the pit area with (69) sprint cars.

Brian Brown won that opening night with Chuck Swenson finishing second and Tony Bruce, Jr. rounding out the top three positions.

Both ASCS regions once again assaulted the dirt oval on Monday July 3rd and a nice crowd witnessed Jake "The Snake" Peters hold off the challenges of runner-up Mike Chadd and third place finisher Jack Dover. The young and talented Dover would go on to finish an impressive second in ASCS Midwest Regional points for the 2006 season.

On Tuesday August 15th, the ASCS Sprint Bandits, (410 non wing dudes), were the main attraction as the ASCS Midwest region was invited to fill out the card as a support division. Billy Alley bested Jeff Mitrisin and Justin Henderson to the checkered flag. Henderson was taking a night off from his World of Outlaw driving duties.

The staff of I-80 Raceway is excited to once again be the hosts of multiple events featuring the ASCS Northern Plains and Midwest regions, as well as another date for the ASCS Sprint Bandits, (those non wing dudes).

2007 I-80 Nebraska Raceway Park's ASCS Race Dates:

Friday April 13th - ASCS Northern Plains & Midwest regional co-sanctioned points race.

Saturday April 14th – ASCS Northern Plains & Midwest regional co-sanctioned points race with the NCRA 360 sprinters.

Tuesday August 14th – ASCS Sprint Bandits & ASCS Midwest regional points race.

We would like to thank the staff of I-80 for their support of ASCS sprint car racing.

Next update…2007 schedule for I-90 Speedway, Hartford, SD.

Here's wishing each and every one of you a safe and happy holiday season…CZ
