Due to Circumstances beyond Paul Sides' control, the deal between him and the Front Row Challenge promoter has been put to a halt! The flip is still gonna happen, but it will not be done as announced at the front row challenge in Oskaloosa. Details are being worked out and soon will be be annonced as to the where abouts of this exciting event. The track owner that is looking to host the event is excited and looking forward to making this happen. So stay tuned for some more Gyronetics news!

Good. Most uncomfortable grandstand seating in the world. McCarl drags the night out long enough. I'm just there for the racing.

The entire event is not on the Southern Iowa Speedway website now? Is the event being moved elsewhere? Front Row Challenge website still shows Oskaloosa.

McCarl rents the track. Track website only shows the events they run themselves. Yes, it is still at Osky.

I will be staying tuned. We haven't been to the Front Row Challenge since we quit racing and would have made the event to watch Paul.

I have always wondered why car owners in Sprinters and Nascar go along with this. I don't care how much Carl Edwards trains and such, even Gymnasts, trained in flips are injured from time to time. Not necessary and very risky, especially on a racing surface, whether it be dirt or asphalt.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Just as a side note, I'm not a Walker hater at all, just posted it to be dumb. In fact I can't help but feel abit bad for him on that deal, I'm not sure if the bruise to the knee or the ego hurt worse.

Bruise to the knee? That would be a torn ACL which required reconstructive surgery and months of rehab. Having done the same thing myself, it is not a lot of fun and very painful. We are talking about an injury that takes NFL players out for a season. Luckily you do not have to be able to run to wheel a sprint car. I was off crutches after a couple weeks (even though the doc said I should use them for a month).

That would put a baseball player on the "60 day disabled list" .... at least...

The Paul Sides situation is nothing like Edwards/Walker! He is attempting a BACKFLIP IN A SPRINT CAR! Travis Pastrana/X games style. But apparently something has changed and it won't be at Osky. Please don't get this confused with those guys doing gymnastics off tires like little girls.

do it in the dirt

If that's what he's attempting to do, then he's an idiot and anybody who would allow such a thing at their event is an idiot, too. If I want to see clowns or animal acts, I'll go to the zoo.

We all know what they say about opinions. I wonder if motorcycles were invented to jump canyons? Robert Craig Knievel, was an American daredevil and entertainer. In his career he attempted over 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps, even over canyons! To call a man a idiot because he has a dream, a desire, a passion to try something in life that he believes in, is just wrong. Everyday people jump out of airplanes, climb to the highest snow covered mountains, dive in the deep deep oceans. We as sprint car fans show up at the track to watch racing, We watch these machine do great things, drivers push them pedals down as far as they go, to get them to go as fast as they can, they slide in the dirt around other cars, they flip them, they roll them, and we as fan love these machines. If we didn't we wouldn't be race fans. Now back to what my post is about, JMO, you say this man is an idiot if he attempts this feat, you say if you wanted to watch circus and clowns you would go to the zoo. I say, this man is living his life to the fullest, he is doing something that he wants to do, he isn't going to do this to please you, he's doing it to please him. We have one life to live, live it the way you see fit. Do things that make you happy. Life is short, live it to the fullest, or die without having lived! Once again JMO....

I can't think of a better way to compression fracture T1-5 and maybe even 6! I'm good for $50 on the hospital fund.

If he's doing it to please himself and not us then do it in his back yard. Or at the X games. If I go to a motorcycle race it is to see a race. If I want to see someone jump over busses on a bike I'll go watch Knievel's kid. I buy race tickets to see RACES, not stunts.
