Were the early Gamblers a Stanton copy? Were they a hoop design with the hoop starting on the bottom rail? Was the A frame on the back of the cage close at the top? How many X's were there at the front of the chassis? Were there any special things to help identify the chassis? What was the rear radius rod adjustment like?

Carson and Wolfgang were ride hopping Trostle built rides, while Trostle car owners were driver hopping for their Trostle built rides. Just when Wolfgang would use his influence to move Shane or another driver out of a seat, that driver would move to the next best deal.
Shane was in Florida running the Trostle built car of CK Spurlock, Lorreta Lynn was the sponsor. Going down the backstretch at I think East Bay, the front axle snapped, hard to say, but all of a sudden, Shane and his ride took some nasty rolls totalling the car. Lorreta Lynn wasn't spending any more money on the deal , so Shane and CK had to get their hands on a new frame at least as well as a few peices to get back on the road and race.
CK knew of a guy in Hendersonville, Tenn. who worked at a Napa autoparts store by the name of Floyd Bailey. Thise guy worked in the back as a shop foreman. He was confident he could build a totally new frame and chassis, so he did. Shane had a lot experience working on Trostle cars, and CK had a lot of input as well. Even then, Floyd and CK were talking about the idea of building and selling more as a sideorder business, more or less.
The first race was to be at Devil's Bowl with Shane at the helm, but just when Shane was in OkC to get his helmet , he got word that Dub May was to get the ride instead- leaving Shane without a ride for a while.
But the guys at Gambler made it up to him years later on the NCRA trail.

Thank you for the clarification. I knew they were copies of something. Were the Trostles and earliest Gamblers hoop chassis, with the hoop going from bottom rail to bottom rail?

How did these early Gamblers attach the top of the fuel tank to the chassis?

I talked to someone at work who has an old friend that has an unused Gambler frame. He is going to check with him and see if I can post the info if anyone is interested.
