Slink 51 I think he was working with Jason Myers this past weekend as part of the end of the world tour, now that I think about it,if he is crew chief what is Brian Bloomfield now,I thought he was the crew chief for Stevie or is he gone to another pasture....anybody know? Its crunch time for its time to get to the Grove and start the season.

I got this off The Black Bandit facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Black-Bandit/264763416916619%20

"Shane will partner with Brian Bloomfield, our General Manager, to insure that the team has everything it needs to be highly successful."

Championship Chief: Shane Bowers to Join CL Motorsports for 2012 Pennsylvania native to be top wrench turner for Stevie Smith and Black Bandit team SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - March, 20 2012

- Ask a coach or executive in any sport and they will tell you that people are crucial ingredients when it comes to winning championships. CL Motorsports has taken yet another step closer to becoming a championship contender with the addition of Shane Bowers as crew chief. The Oxford, Pennsylvania native began the 2012 season with reigning World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Jason Meyers and will be joining CL Motorsports for the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Friday, March 23rd. "Shane Bowers brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to our team," said team co-owner Chris Luck. "Shane has been apart of five of the past six World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship winning teams. He knows what it takes to win and what it means to represent an organization well both at the track and away from it. Having the right people in place is the difference between winning or not. Shane will partner with Brian Bloomfield, our General Manager, to insure that the team has everything it needs to be highly successful." Bowers begin his racing career by working for P.J. Chesson in 2000. In 2006, Bowers joined Donny Schatz for the first of four consecutive titles that the Fargo, N.D. native would win. Bowers joined Elite Racing prior to the 2011 racing season and added a fifth championship. "I've been very fortunate to be apart of a lot of great teams and organizations in my career," said Bowers. "This truly is my first shot at being a crew chief and I believe that I am up to the task. Chris and Chad (Clemens) have put together a team that can compete night in and night out wherever we go. I'm really looking forward to this new opportunity and I hope we can go out there and win quite a few races and, eventually, a championship." Bowers and the rest of the CL Motorsports team will get their first shot at victory lane as the #19 CJB Motorsports/DDNi/GLR Investments/Spectro Oils KPC makes its 2012 debut at the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Friday, March 23rd. Shane Bowers joined the racing scene in 2000 and was apart of crew that helped Donny Schatz win four consecutive titles from 2006-2009. Bowers joined Elite Racing in 2011 and added a fifth title to his resume. The Oxford, Pa native was the head wrench turner for Jason Meyers through this past weekend at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif.

Brian Bloomfield will be the General Manager and oversee CL Motorsports as a whole while Bowers will be in charge of the #19 program.

So you're saying you have a guy that owns the deal...a guy that is GM and oversees the deal...a guy that oversees the wrench turning duties...a guy that oversees the engine tuning duties...a guy that drives it, and you're not running for the WoO title? Your 1st race of the season is this week at a weekly show? I wish I had tons of money I knew nothing to do with!

From what I've seen and heard on this I think they will run a large amount of the WoO shows, to be prepared for the full schedule next year. This just came together too fast for them to have it all ready to start in Volousia and run the whole schedule. I guess you have some people with the frame of mind to throw things together half a$$ed and then theres people with the frame of mind that I'm going to take my time and get things up and running well and it may take longer but the growing pains will be less and the payoff will come quicker hopefully. Money definitely helps this line of thinking, but rather than slam CL for having alot of money and willing to spend his money on sprint car racing we should all be happy that there is people out there like CL, TS, KK and Todd Querring, etc. that are putting money into the sport.

I'm excited to see this team run full-time cause on paper this will be a contention team. I hold out hope that once they get Stevie up and running they pull in Shane Stewart as a second full time WoO team.

To Meatbag: yes a weekly show at the most competitive speedway in the nation on a weekly basis that runs 410's,if you think you can measure up to it bring your stuff, in the mean time stick to key board racing....you guys talk about KKR,TSR, HR Cattle, and many others who have enough money to do what they wish as does this group, they got it brother, and if its not in the trailer or shop yet it will be in short order and all first class equipment, all first class people, and CL is the nicest man you can ever possibly meet,a real, real gentleman and first class in all his endeavors.Time is not a matter to these gentlemen they will do all their talking on the dirt full time....just get behind your tree and watch.

what is the problem? i hear the PA people always say there is no reason to run with the woo as they can run more races for less in their home area.

my understanding is the team will not just be a stay on the porch PA team, but will run select events around the country this year with several organizations. kind of like it was done before woo was formed.

from what i hear this new team will be using this year to gel and to get ready for a full assault on the woo championship next year.

sounds like they are putting all the necessary pieces together.

as far as the tons of money, it looks like they know exactly what to do with it. Smile

to indy and beyond!!
