Yes we're looking at having a big problem, but I will say it's one of the best problems I've had all year!!

Limited Seating. We seat around 800, we have a little over 500 seats left that just went on sale, first night available at the track, so they will go within the week I would guess.

This is, to the best of my knowledge, the first time ever for sprints in Elk.

Problem is for the drivers coming, if the tickets are sold out, the only option for your family and friends are pit passes. The advance tickets are online at elkcityracer.com or call the ticket line 580-275-8000 for credit card orders. Advance tickets are $15.00, $20.00 at the gate, which I don't think will happen.

When this show sells out we will decide on adding a second day. So 2 full days of purse for the same travel money. First show is Sept. 24th, if we add a day it will be Fri. Sept. 23rd.

So please let your folks know to get their tickets, I don't want the families to show up and be mad that we're sold out.

Also that night, Sportmods $500 to win no entry!!

Plus order your event t-shirt online $15.00

For more info call DeeDee 580-275-8079

You have shot yourself in the foot, not only once, but twice and three times. Started out with "we have a problem" then progressed to "limited seating" and stating "full blown Sprint cars". This is not a World of Outlaws show.

If I where you I would retract your post and have someone that dont spoke redneck go ahead and said somethin more positvitly about your racin track then yall can tipe the resalts.

You are already running people off simply by the nature of your post. I will not drive from OKC with my family or friends if there is only a 50/50 chance of being able to even see any Racing action. And after travelling to be turned away because I did not Pre-purchase is ridiculous.

I never ever heard of a Race Promoter running out of space to put people that want to purchase a ticket for admission.

Uncle A, why I'm taking the time to explain to you my post, after your failed attempt to insult me, I don't know but here it is.

Big Problem : Got it one of the most read posts yesterday.

Limited Seating : That's what I have, and yes if I am full I will turn people away from the grandstands. I am a city park and have the city fire department on hand, I can not and will not pack them in like a heard of cattle. Therefore I am trying to warn the families that the only option the day of the show may be pit passes. I pre-sale tickets to all large events, and yes in Elk City this is a BIG EVENT, at least my pocket book thinks so.

Full Blown Sprint Cars: My bad, to me that's what I think they are. Point was not mini sprints. I did fix that.

You stated yourself that " I will not drive from OKC with my family and friends if there is only a 50/50 chance of being able to even see any racing action. And after traveling to be turned away because I did not pre-purchase is ridiculous." Just my thoughts, hence the post.

As far as your little redneck comment, HELL YES and proud of it. Bonus, my redneck track is still open...

Have a Great Day!

uncle a- have another beer and stay off the computer! lol

ClintonGM- Its great to hear you guys are putting on a sprintcar show. Ive been there once a few years back to a weekly show to watch and it is a really cool little place. I think sprintcars will put on a good show there! I think it would be awesome to try and get Elk City and Clinton to have OCRS shows on the same weekend since the cars will already be on the west side of the state. Either way I will definitely be there!

I 100% agree with bobby it would be awesome if every track was selling or trying to have sell out grandstands. hum like maybe texas motor speedway. we ocrs racers would love to see sell out crowds to see us race. we raced at elk city when we did prostockes great race track.i remember the grandstands had a lot of fans. we also will be there to put on another great show. thanks to clintongm for giving us ( ocrs owners and drivers ) another track to race at. we should be thanking barry and david (goodyear) for all the hard work they have been doing. CAN YOU HERE THE THUNDER ! BOB AND KIM MARTIN OWNERS SPRINT 41

Should the day come in my lifetime that a promoter has to turn away people at the gate for being "Sold Out", is the day I will believe we have turned the corner towards selling our product to the public.

Dee Dee, first off I would like to ask you what you meant by your last statement in that your redneck track is still open? What deal you have against Allen is none of my business but the way I took it, you were slamming the fairgrounds. I can tell you that if you meant the closing of the fairgrounds than you lost a possible attendee to your track.

I have been around sprint car racing a long time. Yes, for the city of Elk City this is a big event but to pay a 20 dollar entry fee the day of the event for a 2 barrel race is nuts. I do not care if they are OCRS cars. Especially, after the Tulsa fans were getting home at 6 in the morning from the Ardmore race. I do understand that there is the advance ticket option and there is nothing wrong with that.

My opinion is that you might need to hire a PR person to address issues that people like Uncle brought up. Yes, he is not the most pc person out there but he speaks allot of the thoughts of others in the community.

I have read my post over, more than once, and I have to wonder where on earth you would pull a question like that out of the air. Why would I slam the fairgrounds? Have you read the news on all forums lately, I don't know what the number of tracks is that have closed this year is, but it's hirer than ever. Times are hard and getting harder. So I guess a simple answer to your question is NO I was not slamming the fair grounds, and what I meant was I'm proud to be one of the tracks fortunate to still be open. As far as Allen, don't know him, but don't take kindly to attempts to insult me, and as far as a PR person, my pr is the way I treat my drivers and fans, maybe I could use a pro, to say it the right way, but I think I will just chance doing it my way, being straight up and honest.

$20 dollar ticket at the door is to give those that get their advance ticket a savings, to encourage the advance ticket sales so that we know where were at. $9000 dollars is a big purse for a small track like ours to pay out. We are not in a big demographic area. So hopefully this explains my post.

As far as time, we will start at 7 sharp and we will be done by 12. Rules enforce at our facility detour delays. Plus we have over 5 tow trucks lined up for that event, for quick clean up.

I know that it's a long way for the Tulsa area to travel, and many will not come, but for those of you that do I very much appreciate your support.

We did arrange at last night's show through the help of some of my regular drives help to ad 2 sets of grandstands for back up to traveling families another 200 seats.

Sometimes it takes letting your potential problem known to get help to solve it.

Hope to see you there, and thank you to those with a positive approach to this.

I appreciate a promoter telling me in advance there could be an issue with walk up tickets sales. That's a nice "problem" to have in today's economy.

Best of luck on the show, unfortunately will be having a medical procedure done that week so I can't make the race.

I like that the promoter got on here and gave a heads up on limited seating. I'm not much of a sprint fan but really impressed with the OCRS, in hard times I think they have raced at every track in "central" OK except Brill and from what I read they are a succsess for the tracks and the series at every event. And they do put on a hell of a show! And that's coming from a guy that's not really a sprint fan! Lol

CLINTON GM / DeeDee, I was not trying to insult you, I was simply pointing out the comments that were said on other racing boards. I do however have a hard time understanding why you would accept any venue knowing you may have a problem with the Purse or the Seating.

I truely hope the scheduled race is success for both you and OCRS. OCRS is a great series with many talented drivers and they put on a good show at every track they attend. I am also glad to hear you were able to add extra seating, it should be a good night of racing for you and the fans.

Best wishes,

Allen Crawford

Here's the deal unc, I find it hard to beleive that you did't try to insult me with your get someone that don't spoke redneck coment. So if your trying to retract it, doesn't really matter to me. Seems a little like you are a, well there are are plenty of names, but lets call it make something into something it's not, kinda guy.

Again your last post, why would I take on a venue that I would have a problem with the purse and or seeating, Hmmm again reading my post, never said I had a problem with the purse, just said it was a large one for our size track, like to know where I stand, to me that's just good business sense. Sold out seating, absolutly not a problem for me.

So let's just stop here with this. I don't like you trying to make my posts into something they are not, and I really am trying to be nice about it, If you would like to come to the show, great, if not don't matter to me at this point, but your would be insight to this, well I can do without it. So thanks away, but i think I will wing it without your help.

It will be awesome racing!

I like this Clinton GM guy. I saw nothing wrong with his chosen form of advertising. If I wanna go, I will certainly buy a ticket in advance. Thanks for the heads up that it could be sold out, its a long ways to drive just to be turned away. Resort to the 6 P's. Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

i read the post and it did come off a bit negative....i would have worded it differently....like "hurry and get tickets now as seating is limited, however pitpasses will be available should a sellout occur"....i agree with uncle A, while the OCRS sprinters are an entertaining show and very competitive, they arent quite "full blown sprint cars". ...in fact, i can name several OCRS shows that were much better than alot of the world of outlaw shows i attended over the years. OCRS sprinters start 20 cars in a main event and at some tracks, 16 or so have a legitimate shot at winning and as we all know, a world of outlaws show may bring 6 or 8 potential winners.....just my 2 cents.....
