Any of you die hard Non Wing fans have any inclination on how many NW Sprint Cars we might see at the Non Wing Nationals & Ultimate Challenge?

Wouldn't it be cool to have the 3 day 360 Nationals, enough cars to have a 3 day Non Wing Nationals, then the 410 Nationals! Not sure if I would want to sacrifice the Oskaloosa Events though!

I say we join the wingless and 360 show and double the fields.

That is exactly what I was thinking. What a hell of a show that would be! Think about the Saturday night show ASCS, USAC, ASCoC Vs. Knoxville Locals. Would it be possible to beat a race like that? Don't know what you would put on Sunday night though? 360 Tournament of Champions again plus 305s?

That would be cool! Reminds me of the U.S. Dirt Nats. events they used to have at Terre Haute. You'd have the WoO, wingless 410's and winged 360's. At K'Ville, you could see 150 cars race that night easy. All I ask is that they keep up with the track because it would be spent come nights end.

33 signed in last year, I would expect about that many (35-40) this year.

I remember there being about 16 entries last year, and they had 33 cars. We'll be fine.

Need to ship in a spread out Sheep, hog and cattle manure, like they use to from the old sale barn. That helps the track keep up.

My dads friend is the one who use to do the spreading, so not much of a story.

They did use to spread it out back when the Brees' worked the track. I'll call Doug later

It was Doug's dad and he helped sometimes. I believe sometime in the 70's . I left him a message. would be nice to know if it was a myth or not if manure was used on teh track to help keep it soft and able to obsorb water. I swear he has told me in the past they did do it. I was just going to touch base and see again.

Well, we are both kinda right.
his response to me.
"Yes, they did try the manure, but it was some time after dad did the track prep. I think they found out it wasn't keeping the gumbo composition. The acid in the manure was loosening up the dirt. By the way, happiest of birthdays." Doug
*Edit: Sounds like it was a myth, in the fact fresh manure helped the track. It was used but made another set of problems. Kinda makes me wonder if they took real compost and spead it on the track, that it might help. Help keep it a fresh dirt track. Cause year after year of hard core racing fluids dripped and spilled. Maybe mixing real compost in the track and just not plan manure. Might save the track from having to spend 600k every 10 years to go get 'new' dirt. An Idea but yet I am not a soil expert, Savage bad Monkey is the expert there.
