Sure do........Jud Larson. Jerry Blundy, Scratch Daniels, Sonny Helms, Jerry Richert, Pete Folse, Gordon Wolley, Harold Leep. A few other faces look familiar, but can't put a name on'em yet.
Track #2 was in Minnesota, don't think it's Mn State Fair though, possibily Owatanna?
Great footage of the stars & cars I watched growing up. Thanks for posting.

Grew up watching Jud Larson, Gordon Wooley, run at Olympic Stadium in KC. Hershal Waggner Hickman Mills Mo. Have'nt heard it called that in years since Kansas City annexed that area. Hershal did all the dozer work to build I-70 speedway. and got a sneaky feeling that was Ray Lee Goodwin instead of Carl Williams. Neat old film!!!

You're most likely right on the Ray Lee referance- with your experience you would know. Sometimes the faces don't match up with the names, and I think it could be the dialog writer for the announcer on these films used a race program instead of actually getting the names- or something to that end.
Most of the stuff seems correct, but every now and then there are glitches that even I notice.

Here are the cars listed by IMCA that was running for the race. If Ray Lee ran, he entered at the last minute at the back gate. I went back to a webb site that lists every driver that competed that finished high in the standings. I do know that not all races are listed but ithas drivers from the early nineteen hundreds to the two thousands. Ray Lee Goodwin does not show up before 1964. That is not saying he did not race before then. It just that he did not finish high in the standings or someone did not or has not sent in the results.
Carl Williams is listed to drive the car owned by D. Wilson. It looks like Carl drove the car for most of the 1963 season, if not the complete season.
If one listens to the announer, he was surprised to see Jud Larsen back driving. Jud had been out of racing for four years atfer his second heart attack. Jud suffered at least two medical problems while behind the wheel of a sprint car before this race. Both times the other driver lost their life. I can still remember the first time as I was in the stands at K.C. Lakeside. Jud was not hurt but did not return to racing for four weeks. A total of four drivers lost there life and number four was Jud himself. Like most drivers they just did not want to quit.

These are the complete results for both days of the TOPEKA RACES. This page is the first day,not the one in the film. The first has the qualifying for both days.

You have to have a DOT physical to drive a truck, but not to drive a fire breathing sprint car, who would have thought.

As a youngster growing up in Tampa,Florida, It was a thrill to attend the IMCA races at the Fla. State Fair. The schedule was usually a four race debut on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In early Feburary, the rest of the country is usually snowed in and so much racing talent would gather here. The track wasn't much, but it was the only dirt facility around. Built in about 1920 originally for sulkeys -"It was narrow" Surface was baseball diamond clay and was known for "End-over-end potholes" We sorta claimed the bragging rights to have hometown hero Pete Folse who drove the most beautiful sprint car I have ever seen! Hector's Black duce. Barton lived here also and knew this track pretty well! No doubt though , the talent from the Midwest was so grand! Jerry Blundy, Walkup, Weld, Tattersal and Daniels were so quick to catch on to the layout of this track. Jerry Richert had many good years here also. Ray Lee Goodwin broke the one lap record here in the 70's and forever will have it because the track is no more. Just joined this site thank You for posting and I always enjoy looking at the past.
Best,
Ron
