I know this is a little late, but I would like to publicly thank a number of people who made last Sunday's Huset's Speedway Hall of Fame night such a BIG success.
First, my committee, which consists of voting members Don Jones, Harry Torgerson, Kevin Kjergaard, Doug DeWall, Rob Ristesund and Rick Dump, our special advisors to the board Tom Savage, Mark Tassler and Jerry and Kathy Cunningham and their families for allowing them to serve on such a committee.
Thank you to The 212 Bar and Grill in Brandon for hosting the Inductees Social and PowerBrokers, Inc (Jim and Theresa LeTendre) for sponsoring the event. All the families of the 5 new inductees had a GREAT time sharing old stories, photos and some great memories. Some tears were shed too.
Thank you to the Huset's Speedway staff, Track Manager Shawn Niestadt, owners Steve and Nancy Rubin and their family for their cooperation for allowing us to bring in vintage and restored racecars for display and for allowing us to have an extended intermission for our Induction Ceremony.
Thank you to Debby and Bruce Lund for bringing their Vintage Racecars to the 212 and then to Huset's for display, to Ron Fick for bringing the Purple 4x that Doug Wolfgang drove to be displayed and to Don Brady's family for bringing Don's racecar from the early 70s out to the track to be displayed too. GREAT MEMORIES with those cars.
Thank you to Terry Reilly for strapping into a racecar one more time, and for Tom Wilson and Ziebarth and their crew for putting the car together for Terry to drive. That was in honor of long time friend and car owner Jim Haney's induction into the Hall of Fame. It was great to see Terry, Lanman, Beav, Sprout, Kim, Z and the whole crew. Lots of laughs with that bunch for sure.
Last, but not least, THANK YOU to the fans. You were a GREAT audience and showed a lot of respect to our 5 new inductees and their families during the ceremony. Thank you for that.
Congratulations to Jim Haney, Roger Swenson, Tom Van Anne, Bill Rook and Vern Haugan on being members of the Class of 2011 Huset's Speedway Hall of Fame.
