E-MODS ARE THE BEST CLASS GOING RIGHT NOW, ENID ALMOST HAS A B FEATURE EVERY SAT WITH E-MODS

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that. However, I will have to disagree with you about them being the best class going right now.

Are they cheap? Sure. Is the class growing? Unfortunately. But there is a lot more to a good class than economics and high car counts... like putting on a good show which is something, in my opinion, I have yet to see the class consistently deliver.

Now, I'm a huge modified fan... but the limited modifeds are easily my least favorite class. I’m sorry if I offend anyone with this post but this is just my opinion.

First let me clarify the class I am referring to because I feel that there are two separate classes of "Limited Modifieds."

Class 1: (SIMMS, IMCA Southern Sport Mods, and what many of the tracks around here consider limited modifieds). This class is little more than bombers with a modified body on them and in my opinion they shouldn't be considered modifieds.

Class 2: (Outlaw Motor Speedway’s E-mods.) These are truly limited modifieds and are modifieds that have been toned down for economic reasons. The class runs modified chassis and allows common modified rear suspensions. This class is often competitive but I'd venture to say that the top modifieds in that class could run with true modifieds and probably cost what a decent true mod would cost thus taking the “E” out of the E-Modified and leaving me to question if the class is truly needed.

The class I’m talking about in this post is Class 1 (The bombers).

Now, I'm not basing my opinion of the class solely off of my experiences at one race or only a couple of race tracks. I've been to many tracks and seen many big modified shows which often have the Limiteds as a support class. I'm not going to lie and say that I've never seen a good limited modified race because I have but most of the limited modified shows I have seen have been snooze-fests. They are generally not very competitive and their races seem to be plagued with yellow flags because of all of the ill-handling cars and new/bad drivers. In my opinion the class just usually doesn't deliver.

For example the Limited modified races at Enid when the USMTS was there were excruciatingly boring. I looked around the stands and most of the fans looked as if they were bored out of there minds and a lot of them were looking every which direction but the race track.

As I mentioned in my description of Class 2 I have to question whether there is really a need for Limited Modifieds (either class). Especially in a time where the class to car count ratio is already overly inflated. Do we really need another class? If you want to run a modified… run a modified. If you can’t afford to race a modified run a factory stock or pure stock. Do we really need a pure stock class with modified bodies? Without these two classes the car counts in the other classes would improve.

Anyway, that’s just my two cents on the class. As I said at the beginning of my post I’m sorry if I offend anybody but that’s just the way I feel about the class.

Well maybe there should be a begining class for modified drivers like C Ray Hall has up in Wichita for his weekly deal. They are modifieds are called "rookie" modifieds. Not sure how many years experience it is limited too but it is soley for drivers new to the modified division. I would say any driver with less than three years experiences are allowed to run the rookie modified division and then you either have to move up to the regular modified class or another division of car.

It probably wouldn't have to pay much but would gain valuable seat time for aspiring drivers and it would also allow for the older chassis out there to still be able to race.

Just my tidbits on the deal but what do I know about modified racing, I am a sprint car guy!

Yes the Pro stocks rule, they put on a far better show than the e-mods ever would. Please let's keep the pro stocks around for a long time to come!!!!

whe it comes to the changes of the entire show at OKC I think there only needs to be 1.......FOR RIGHT NOW.

And that is to either mix Pro Stocks and Factory Stocks together under a STreet Stock Banner. They could duke it out from there. Or Just junk the factory stocks and if any of em want to race bad enough they will get themselves a pro stock. O and BTW when those with the means do get in a pro stock.........THENNNNNNN we come back with a "true: Factory stock class minus the few who were killin it with their $$$ and Motors.......we all know who they are. Yes once they get in a real car and show what they can do.............then is the time for a true factory class to race against each ohter with a claim rule as well. So that certain current SFS factory competitiors can actually have some FAIR fun racing. that is an easy solution. Someone other Lanny has to make the call tho.......b/c when lanny was faced with a difficult task with a rule earlier this year.......he bowed out. We don't want grand dad killin the NEW factory stock class also.

Pretty soon we'll have Hornets, Cruisers, Mini Stocks, Lawn Mowers, etc. No thanks.

You could put "Lawn Deep" on the back of your seat. It would be awesome.
