Due to not enough IMCA race tires in the area we have dropped the sanctioning for this race.

We are using the same Mod and Sport Mod rules we used last year which is NCRA rules. That should make it easier for everyone to come race on Sunday May 22nd in Enid!

As someone said........... Let's just race!

"A" Mods the tires that you can run on Sunday May 22nd are either IMCA G60 or American Racer KK704.
Only those two tires are legal on the "A" Mods.

Callinng the county attorney fo no track lights, corner lights and water to cool off cars? Seems to be more problems than the tires at Enid.

Last I hear, they are in dire need of pumping equipment to get the water out of the infield.

It could happen, but it will have to happen tomorrow (saturday)

Say what you will, Ed is trying his butt off! You gotta respect that .

Jaydad - they have been staying fairly current on updates on the Enid Speedway facebook page.

Pretty crazy situation up there with the flooding. whole track/infield looked to be flooded - and yet promoter is lookin for pumps to get it out by saturday so it can dry out and them pack it in. Hard to critizice that effort.

UPDATE SATURDAY MORNING 845am

Last night our guys got two buses on the track and those things work awesome.........track is so smooth!! We will start watering the track this evening and it will be awesome for Sundays races.

The pit area by this afternoon will be almost all clear of the water then drying time tonite and all day tomorrow will get us hopefully at least 90 percent of the pit area. We have some options about pitting some of the guys outside of the pit area on the old half mile horse track and where the equipment is parked.

Track lighting is fixed and the hot car cool off area will be finished by today.

We have 4 corner flagmen if the signal lights are not finished, which Mr Longpine got them back to the county a day or so ago.

Racing?? Oh yah we are racing!

Pit Gates open at 3
Hot Laps 5
Races 6:30pm sharp

OKCFan12,

I'm not able to see Enid Speedways Facebook page... I got deleted when I brought a lot of truth to light. I'm not here to bash that guy, heck, if he is able to put a race track together for sunday then he has had to put in a tough couple of days.

Anyways i hope he has a very good sunday

seems like everytime i answer a question like this one it gets under someone skin...

There was a good count of sportmods, 20 - 25, there were 11 mods, I think there were 6 streetstock, 6 factory/pure stock, and a handful of bombers.

This is my take on the racing there.... I watched a car go over the back wall and racing continued for 3 more laps and got a caution when 2 cars finally came to halt in 3 and 4. The start line is horrible (this is what all my racing friends told me) you have to be in this marked box before you can get in the gas and the box is right on the exit of 4. Hopefully them corner lights will be up before the next show that is a huge hinderance to safety. This is my opinion, it takes way to long to tow a car off the track.

Hope Jon Herring Sr.is feeling fine after a very hard crash that completely destroyed his car.

There was a decent crowd

you can bet your last dollar that I wish I could say something along these lines....

there were 100 cars in the pits and 2000 fans in the stands and racing is at its best in Enid...

Just so everyone doesnt think that I only bash Ed beckley, I just cut through the crap and say it the way I see it... The concession stands, which is not Mr. Beckley (its the fairgrounds) was absolutely horrible. I stood in line for 20mins to get my son a bottle of water and a box of popcorn. i also believe that its crap that the Garfield County Fairboard will not give the concessions back to the promoter to run. This is the absolutely LARGEST REASON there is not a promoter that wants to run weekly shows at Enid.

Heard the announcer saying they would be racing again on June 11th with some type of latemodel series. Hope they have a good turn out the rest of the year. I wont be returning until there are some NCRA shows and maybe I will go to that sportmod show at the end of the year if they allow all the drivers to race.

Jayson, you are correct with your information.

From my perspective as a driver, and in talking with other drivers, it was difficult. When the 42c sportmod went over the wall, one official started waiving the caution flag, cars on the inside could see it and slowed down, but cars on the outside did not see it and continued to race. Off the pace and coming out of turn 4 after slowing down, I noticed the flagman still had the green out so I got back up to speed, but after I lost 3-4 positions. As Jayson stated, a couple laps later, the yellow comes out. Under the caution I stopped to tell the front straight official, that they need to get their act togehter as officials and get on the same page. I know it was the first night and we were able to race despite alot of rain, but this can all be avoided two different ways.

1. Use Raceceivers. Most tracks are using them now anyway.

2. Put lights back up in the corners

I dont know the opinion of all drivers, but the 10 or so that I talked to, ALL agreed that one of the 2 mentioned above, needed to be done.
