try this website....these guys are really fast as you'll see from some of thier track records. You'll need to learn the new set ups and get some more seat time, but they have leagues and stuff so you can race with other people. To give you an idea, the fastest at K'ville is 13.90, very fast......

The older I get, the faster I used to be.

U need to play with setting the car up once u know what your doin and how to do it you'll notice u make alot more time in the corners and much smoother and hell of alot faster i can't remember all my quick times from every track but i know I-55 my quickest is 10.19 and i think last time i ran Eldora i ran a 12.97. The key is setting the car up. U can only run so fast on every track with the stock setup.

On the PS2 version, we have run quite a few laps on the simulator the last couple years. That's with the stock setup.

I can tell you that Bryan Clauson ran a 9.83 at Pevely once, and I've been down to 12.68 at Eldora. That's really all I can remember off the top of my head. Obviously, we had a lot of play with the throttle...we never messed with setups at all.

I think i'd like to just run with the stock set up. I don't want to get too fast and run away with every race. Running the stock set-up, i probably win about 1/4 of the races and usually win the championship(unless i get caught up in a wreck at I-55 or somewhere where you just get taken out). I imagine if I ran some quick setups I'd maybe get fast time more. Running the stock setup, I've only ever had quick time at I-55 and maybe once at Bristol. I'll leave the setups alone and battle for wins and championships.

Try to win the championship without qualifying, no dash, and only stock set up. It's a fun challenge but I warn you it does get frustrating because you can't make any mistakes or the season is lost, and you start leaning to the left more and more as the season goes on because you have to pick off almost a car a lap if you want to finish in the top 3 every race. In 5 yrs. of playing this game I have only been successful with this once. It's amazing how even on a video game the lappers race you for position or take you out.

Ya thats a good point cuz the computer competition really sucks. I know I-55 i can lap the Field but they act like a bunch of squirrels too on that track it can get real sketchy. Have you tried career mode i notice the car is faster and the competition is better not like a big difference but there's all most always two cars that are pretty quick and put up some what of a fight. and the joystick is the way too go on the controller u get way more control over the car.

This is a great game.

I had decided not to buy a PS2, until they came out with this game in 2002.

I was racing it on the PC. We had 8 guys who would get together and LAN party this game twice a month in the off season on the PC. I was really dissapointed to find that you can not LAN this game with the PS2. In fact half of us purchased the PS2 for this reason before we found that you could not network them with the PS2. Then it was back to the PC.

I have noticed that every version of sprint or midget racing game (since the 2002 World of Outlaws version by Ratbag), has really sucked. I still play my '02 version pretty regularly.

Great Game.

If you guys are interested, there's a better way to do sprint car simulation: www.bozracing.com. It's a mod for a PC game called rFactor, and quite frankly is way better than anything Ratbag or Infogrames has put out. Here's a link to the Boz League Race from Chico earlier this year, I'll let it do the talking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFP6ITTbxCw

Anyone here still play the original DTRSC pc game? I'm by no means a gamer and I don't have any game systems but I still get a kick out of playing the old game. I try to come up with new challenges to make it fun.

I can't remember any times for either the computer game or the PS2 version.

I do know however that I went 2 and a half seasons on the PS2 version one time without losing a race starting at the tail end of the B Main everytime. And of course, my stretch ended at either Pevely or Husets. And that was racing every week, not just the WoO races.

The only set ups I never really adjusted was the torison suspension.

The PS2 ratbag game is the best period. Every other cheap imitation game sucks. I found that R Factor game and found out why they call that the R Factor (return factor). Then the XBOX game is good if you like watching pairs figure skating.
