Shane Carson figured you guys would like this, so he sent a copy of a day in 1982. They had to take the dirt off of this track to keep people from killing themselves! Kinda like Bristol I guess...'

pre-race stuff

due to file size, and upload times, and security issues etc..............

I had to put this heat race into two parts. You'll see why.

Why they invented the orange cone for starts, or one of the reasons anyway. I liked this way better, but it was more dangerous.

THank you so much for posting this. I was at this race at the age of 10. We never missed a chance to make the 4 hour drive to see sprint cars at I-70 on the dirt. Is there ANY way I could get a DVD or VHS copy of this from you? Name your price.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Honor is a very important 'key' to keeping the flow of this really cool stuff coming through here.

I have many people keeping an eye on me making sure that I don't break that promise. I also have many people wanting video copies too. I have to work to eat, and keep the electricity on to post these, so keeping up with demand of video copies would be impossible for me anyway.

I am "not" allowed to sell. By keeping that promise, I GET TO WATCH THESE VIDEOS TOO! I'm digging this as much as you do! I'm just a goober here, and my 'ticket' is doing it this way.

Looka here- this will work

We're needing some more of this stuff in good quality , to post here. All of this video is being kept in fireproof/floodproof lockboxes, and someday at least a copy of each could be donated to the right archive.

If you have something we could share here (1945-1985 is hot right now-usac,woo,ncra,cra,Pa Posse etc,) then a filetrade could be done. I really like old dirt supermodifieds myself, old film of course (on a dvd copy).

If it's new, fits the'ilk' of what's going on here, then I'll want to work with the situation and make sure you get your video. One of the rules I have is I can't screw around too much (I do it enough already). In this case, I'd have to confer with Shane. THIS A TOTALLY NON-PROFIT DEAL TO ENTERTAIN RACE FANS LIKE US.

important-

I only allow "one time" to be burned on a deal like this. No second chances since there is so much work to do already. The wife is putting up with enough as it is now.

....................oh yeah..........it's Christmas Eve......................I need to shop tonight!

What I love most about these collection of old videos from ESPN (I have a bunch of my personal collection) is the fact you get to hear Larry Nuber and Bob Jenkins, who I consider the best tv announcers to cover our sport.

Soooo, was that a 'Yes' or a long drawn out 'No'?

My DVD burner works without restrictions to proudly serve the masses...

One copy is all that is needed as the stack of 100 blank DVD-R's staring at me are eagerly waiting to be burned and enjoyed.

It was a "yes, there is a way" answer.

Have you thought about how much postage that would take? And handwriting all of those envelopes? the time it takes to burn each dvd?

I'm a fan just like you. the driving and getting-editing and uploading- re-editing and posting- on several different websites....................It is enough to knock out the lucrative overtime pay I could be making at the plant, or even working on my old super. It's a full time job now, and when I get called out like this in public (without any message of 'giving back in')..........well, if you need to think I'm a jerk, so be it.

I'm staying with the mission of posting these- 110,000 + views and growing overall.

Everybody gets to see them this way, and I get to sleep.

I'm not sure what the dust up is about but I ran on the asphalt highbanks before they closed and I can guarantee you the people around here would buy these up like free Hoosiers. I know a couple of the guys in the video still run around here. Rather you want to or not thanks for posting. Everytime I drive by that place it saddens me.

ESPN had the rights to the video, and might still have them.

The deal I have with all (ALL) of the people that send these in is, I don't sell any. Taking care of the trust gets trust.

IF THEY SHOULD CHOOSE TO SELL THESE, THEN THEY WILL LET ME KNOW, THEN I WILL RELAY IT TO YOU. THEY WATCH ALL OVER THE PLACE ANYWAY-ever think about that?

The price? That's part of the problem with what's went wrong with racing today, a credit card or a check will take care of everything.

FASSTER23- Thank you. In OkC we lost the Fairgrounds Speedway. Instead of drowning in our tears, we chose to keep the soul of the Grandstands alive until a suitable home is found for it. We love the 'big-time joints' like I-70 and WoO and USAC etc. So while they let me run around like a wild dog that can't be bought, I post the stuff that made this here kind of thing awesome.

I only work here. I am fan from the shelf of the supermodified days of the NCRA. I belong there, and unto that I am determined to be true.

Want to get me to give in? Here's how you "could" get me to break that trust.

Get me footage from back in the day of the man who drove this car-in this car. I want five minutes, but four would do. Save your time, there isn't any-but I'm looking anyway until I have sniffed out every rock around here.

It's dropped, I won't worry about telling you thanks for posting awesome videos anymore, trust me.
