Man, American Sports Cavalcade!! Not sure sprint car fans have seen any better coverage or hell racing for that matter since then!!

Sorry Lanny but the Bowl just doesn't seem the samne since you took the trees out on the back stretch. But you still have the best concession foods bar none. When can we expect a sequel to the stock car movie made a few years back?

I was there. I remember the wind dried the track out, but the racing was still great.

That brought back some memories. The Gambler house car, the Old Milwaukee car, the B & L Electric car, and how about that Blazer Plumbing Special! Anyone else remember the back straight flagman???

I just remember every RR tire was worn down to the cords.

The King won the next day and followed it up with a win in Houston a few days later.

They better make some changes. Them cars are too locked down and there's no passing. I give 'em about another 5 years and they won't be around anymore.

Same game ,different year, harder tires, smaller wing, less hp, and a ( trick cockpit adjustable wing! oh my!) the track is a tire eatn P.O.S. So, thats what we need for better racing? only passes worth drawing attention too was Jeff and Sammys battle, I respect yesterday, but love today, Everybody just makes improvements to equipment , im not sure the pasts technology (mandatory rules) will sharpen up the competition curve for today ?? its all in the tracks condition, regardless, everybody has to race it .. fun video, thanks for sharing!

With wings, yes.

In a lot of these old videos, cars string out with a wing or not. But I have noticed they do it more with a wing. Yet wings have kept these guys careers alive for much longer than the alternative.

Something is missing these days in racing, but nobody agrees on what that is.

I had forgotten about the back straight flagman.

Hey - yes it was dry - but it was a day time show...

My favorite WoO race at the Devil's Bowl was when Bobby Allen won - coming from about mid pack.

Those ASC programs were great. I've never seen this race before though, didn't know they had taped at Devil's Bowl that year. There's a vid on YouTube of the last laps of the race from Syracuse that year. Pretty much one lane on the bottom but was neat seeing that again, yes I'm just old enough to remember seeing that on tv haha. My uncle has some of the races on tape from 87, 89 and 90 including the Nats. that year which was the best Sports Cavalcade show ever imo. Wolfgang's alphabet run and Allen and Sammy going at it for the win.

Awesome video-thanks alot. Pretty slick maneuvering by Schrader!! I did have a quick question though: was Bobby Davis Jr. only in the Gambler House car for part of '84? Wasn't that the same year the Wolf was in the #18 too? Thanks again.
