I always wondered what winged sprint cars on an ice rink would be like, now I know. The question remains how long does it take the Zamboni to resurface the ice rink down there in Little Rock? Judging by the lack of water in the dirt there must be a drought in Arkansas.

On another note, thanks for the prompt posting of the race footage.

Cheers!

Picky, picky, picky. I'd take a race like that any day with three wide action all over the track over a heavy hammer down one laner. As long as the track has three grooves who cares if it gets a little slick. There have been a lot of laps on that track over the past couple nights and the racing was still good.

Little Rock reminds me a lot of Princeton, Minnesota, and that place always have some good racing, even when it slicks over a little. I don't know where you watch your racing but I've never seen a short track with that type of brown clay that didn't get a little slick. That's the type of dirt we have up here and pretty much all the tracks get like that towards the end of the evening. I've seen the track crews dig them up before the Feature and as a result the racing was a yawner. Fast for sure but there wasn't much side by side or passing because all anyone could do was floor it and hang on.

Sorry Stan, the hooked up excitement you witness at Tulare's Thunderbowl Raceway can spoil you.

I saw passing high, low and in the middle plus a green to checker race. What's there to complain about?

Read this from Open Wheel.Org Josh Upton, a crew member of the #75 of Tyler Blank was struck by another car tonight at the STN when the other cars' throttle stuck and ran into the rear of Blank's car. Josh is stable but suffered a severe leg injury. Please keep him in your prayers and send him well wishes.

Actually the track took rubber and was anything but slick. You sure you were at the same track? Great racing!

Oh fantastic! The track took rubber...what wonderful news. I just love when dirt tracks take rubber (rolls eyes) Look I have no problem with a track slicking up during the main event but is it too much to expect that there is a cushion still available to race on? I guess I am spoiled with good race tracks and have come to expect too much.
Cheers!

I have heard that place can be pretty exciting but with a non-race-fan wife there's not much chance I'll ever be able to sell a racing vacation to California. I've seen tacky tracks where they'd pick up the front wheels, that can be fun to watch but based on what I see up here in MN and W WI slick multi groove can be pretty awesome as well. It's all good. That STN video looks pretty good to me, I'd take that kind of racing any day.

Ditto. Its amazing how everyone seems content with such sad conditions. A nice cushion is just about a thing of the past. It sure is saving me a lot of money and miles on my vehicles.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

So tell me again how that track surface worked out down there in Little Rock? Save your money next year folks and hit the best racing format of the year, the Trophy Cup. Oh yeah Trophy Cup had an awesome 50 lapper and it wasn't cut short, there were 3 solid raceable grooves and the winner came from 19th and the points winner (Allard) came from 24th and finished 4th in the A main. None of this single file rubber downed garbage. Johnny Gibson posted this on facebook "last night was the first time I've walked out during the A feature in more than 30 years as a race fan. Terrible..." Sounds like a great night of racing with excellent track prep to me...
Cheers!
