The Short Track Nationals has 126 cars on hand for $15k to win and $2300 to start. Can you imagine the car count if the Knoxville Nationals ran 360's???

They do .... it's called the Kville 360 Nationals. Yes, they have 100+ cars but you will see all the 410 drivers at the front off the field each night.

Is that all you 360 fans base everything off of? The car count? Id rather see 30 plus sprints with the best drivers in the world than 100 plus 360s. I agree Oakland Sprint Fan, you will see the 410 drivers up front. Just like at this weekends STN. It will be a 410 driver that wins it. Look at Tony Bruce Jr. He has won it the last 2 years when he drove some 410 shows during the season. This year he hasnt and he hasnt done shit all year. If you race against lower competition all year and then you race against the 410 drivers youre gonna get smoked, even if its at the STN 360 show.

Shane Stewart proved that wrong at the Nationals on qualifying night.

Yeah but Shane races some big 410 shows. The full time 360 and dont run a 410 show all year drivers will not win when the 410 drivers throw in a 360 motor to take their money. Aka Jason Johnson, Gary Wright etc.

Just a couple of months ago the Knoxville Nationals had over 100 cars for their 360 Nationals...if my "rememberer" is working correctly this morning.

Not too sure. Already broke a hose connection trying to fix a line drip for the Mrs. Don't think that is too good a sign for the start of today! Wink

"Can you imagine" if the Knoxville 360 Nationals was held this time of year when most all tracks are thru for the year? wink

I'd say a full time 360 driver by the name of Tim Crawley is pretty good pick for this weekend.

You sound like the Posse fans: drove "some" 410 shows... so claim him as a 410 driver; doesn't matter that he ran the full 360 national schedule. Just like claiming Shane Stewart... you know, the 360 National Champion. Sheesh.... do a little research on the topic. Full-time 360 drivers have had a nice record of holding their own against the 410 boys when they put a 360 motor in.

As for the car counts, I'll gladly pay $20 for 55+ cars, 6 heats, 3 B-Mains, 1 A-main over $40 for Qualifying, 3 heats, 1 B-Main, and an A-Main. The ASCS National Tour is a great product and most of those that knock it have never attended one of their shows. Wish the WoO would addopt the passing point format over qualifying; certainly get your money's worth in the ASCS format.

If the car count isn't important then why are all of these "best drivers in the world" 410 guys rounding up equipment for the 360 Knoxville Nationals, STN, and ASCS end of the year events?

You guys miss the point. I was at Knoxville for nine nights this year and fully understand that there was a 360 Nationals with 100 cars entered. But put out a $1,000,000 purse out there for a 4 day 360 race and see how many show up. The post had nothing to do with the quality of the show, the amout of fans in the stands or the level of drivers entered. However, for $150,000 and the title of Knoxville Nationals Champion, EVERY top driver in the world will be there. And as far as 410's being the only way to go... Would you like to guess how big of an engine Roy Robbins, Jerry Richert Jr., Joe Saldana or Dick Gaines had when they won the Nationals?

Because if they had another race to go to they would.

Have the 360 and 410 nationals on the same weekend and see how many 410 drivers you get.

A full crowd at the STN would not fill half the front side at Knoxville

The Knoxville raceway does run a 360 nationals! The Knoxville 360 nationals averages 100 cars and ONLY pays 10K to win, I am not sure what they pay to start. I would guess if Knoxville paid 15-20K there would be 150 cars, JMO!

The only thing with a 410 in it should be a non-winged car. And, whats this 410 'driver' and 360 'driver'? What is Sammy? (be nice) a 410 or 360? He does both and wins, so does Johnny Herrara, so does Tim Kaeding, etc, etc, They are Sprint Car Drivers. Whoever would rather see 30 410's over 126 360's is just foolish. With higher car counts you get to see alot more racing, and yes, eventually they will race down to 20-24 of the Best Sprint Car RACERS around.

Wow... Knoxville is a bigger facility than I-30... what an amazing piece of information of no relevance to the conversation.

And there actually is quite a bit of 410 racing going on the weekend of the 360; it is held during many 410 weekly shows and a WoO Month of Money event, yet 410 teams still find a way there. As the original poster implied: can you imagine what the car count would be if the $150,000 to win Knoxville Nationals were a 360 event? After all, the 360 nationals has had a higher car count five straight years over the 410 nats as is.

Have the 360 and 410 nationals on the same weekend and see how many 410 drivers you get 2.Would they pay the same purse?

A full crowd at the STN would not fill half the front side at Knoxville 3. What is the attendance at STN? And, what will the front side at K-ville seat?
