It looks as if the track in Danville Ill is in trouble of being torn down. As well as there are rumors that the dirt track in Houston is in trouble as well.
In the latest issue of Sprint Car and Midget Mag Scott Munn from the Daily Oklahoman has about a 1/4 section about the fairgrounds in the Letter section.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands
in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he
stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Maybe we should spend some more of our Tax dollars to send Mr. Cornett and Mr. O'Toole to these cities so they can offer their expert opinion.

hate to be the cynical one here, but........
technically we were the ones that lost our track. They accomplished what they set out to do. Which was not only tearing down a historical landmark but also passing a $777 million piece of tax funded legislation for needless playgrounds while in the midst of cutting city jobs......
just sayin' - of all the things that bunch may be - stupid is not one of them.....until you get into discussions on the pothole 500

WOW... You are getting soft barely 6 lines on a CCC response???
Yes we are all the blame for the politicians for closing SFS, by supporting the track every Friday night (and some spending their last dollar to get in). Especially since the plan had been in motion for years.
Some say there has been more under the table business concerning the SFS grandstands conducted for years; but no one will ever know...
I am not trying to throw salt into our wounds but, It is what it is...
