Thinking about heading up to Husets for the outlaw show. Few questions first is this a pretty good show have heard Husets isn't the best run track. Second what does tickets run for their outlaw shows, and 3rd what do they have for support class will 360s being running or just hobby stocks and other door bangers?

1. Husets is a well run show. It happens to present that show to some of the most knowledgable and fickle fans in the county. Husets is run as a top 20 track. They have decent food, great flagging, and decent announcing. The sight lines are top 5 of all sprint car tracks. Their surface is what causes problems because Souix Falls gets hot, and black dirt can be a pain to work with. You can see an outstanding show their that will bring you out of your seat.
2. Husets problem is that they make you pay up for what you are getting. If had a perfect surface like Knoxville, their would never be a question about what you pay. However, they charge the same and the dirt can be finicky. That said, they more often than not have it "right" for Outlaw shows. It can lay rubber(and does), but guys have proven that the fast line is around the top if everyone locks into the rubber.
3. If TK were to show up, it is worth the price of admission. I remember when he ran the 10T cars(I think Tom Wolfe owned?) after a Nationals. He ran the wall like 10 laps, jumped the concrete and slid along the backstretch wall for 1/4 straightaway with sparks flying all over. Most fun performance for 8-10 laps I have ever seen.

I called yesterday for tickets. No answer at the track, office, or by e-mail.

Adult tickets run $35, Hobby Stocks are the supporters. I think, for kids 8-12, there's a reduced rate for tickets and 7 and under free but not entirely sure on that. You can check www.husets-speedway.com

Slideguy thanks for the info. I was just trying to see if it would be worth my trouble leaving work early and making the drive (from Des Moines). I think I'll make the trip since I've never been there before. I'm assuming some of the Knoxville regulars would come up since it's not too far of a tow. Should be a good race.

Didn't know TK was coming out to run Husets if he does any chance he comes to Knoxville Saturday to practice for Nationals or would he most likely race with the outlaws again in Minnesota?

1.) Husets is sometimes a well run show, other times it is a complete joke. You never know what you're going to get. Knoxville is better run in every aspect.
The surface can definitely cause problems or more so the lack of track prep is the problem.
2.) The ticket price at Huset's isn't the problem, esp with the WoO ticket price. The problem is what you get to see for the $.
14 - 15 410's at a weekly show isn't exactly a good field of cars.
If Huset's takes rubber the show will be the worst show you've ever seen. BTDT believe it was around 2003 or 2004, started taking rubber just below the cushion shortly after the start of the feature and they slowly worked it all the way down to the bottom. If I remember right there was not ONE car that got lapped on a very short 3/8 mile with 24 cars on it.
Worst WoO show I've ever seen, possibly the worst show I've ever seen period. Took a few years before I went back again.
I don't know about Kaeding but don't count on many of the Knoxville cars being at Huset's, it doesn't seem like they can find their way to Sioux Falls. It's rare that there are more than a couple at Huset's. Pretty much whoever comes for a weekly show is who is likely to come for the WoO.

The atmosphere at Huset's is interesting - pretty neat place and the track can be pretty racy depending on the surface.

Well your in for a treat then, because Tim Kaeding will be there racing at Husets! Just saw him race at Hanford Calif. this last week and he put on good show for the win. Don't know about if he's racing in Minnesota or Knoxville right after that though.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of the Allstar guys show up for either. They are off that night and have a 3 day show at Husets the end of July.

I find it hard to believe that any of the Allstars would tow from Ohio where they raced on 6/26 to Huset's and then back to Ohio for their next race on Saturday. Maybe Shaffer but other than that I would be surprised.
Kaeding is heading to the midwest already?!

Straightforward answer, from somoeone who has been going to Husets since 1984:
It's always a 50/50 shot, on whether the WoO show is good at Husets. In recent years, most have not been much bang for the buck. I'm still undecided on whether to drive 8 miles and spend $35 tonight. If I had to drive from Des Moines, I'd likely stay home.

Im willing to take a 50/50 risk and drive the 100 miles.( like I do weekly)
Im thinking they will pack the joint tonight.
The attendance at Husets has been down a little this year, but I think theyll be there tonight.
Plus, I need some fireworks!
