While out on my nightly walk tonight I got to thinking of some of the stange ways and things that seem to stick with those that raced years ago. Here's a couple that have stuck with me.
You might be an old vintage racer if....................you still carry a well worn Getz quick change gear chart in your wallet and a spare Dzus button in your pants pocket.
Anybody else have any?

I still have a pocket size address book that I started carring in 1961 with racing contacts in it, like Valley Engineering, Tulsa, OK. It was so worn 5 or 6 years later, I wraped it with masking tape. However, I don,t carry it anymore.....I also have a 1/2 in ratchet with the spring loaded ball drilled out for a hole to pin it to a front weigh jacker & operated by the driver, era 1965. ....Luther

you might be a vintage racer if you help the guy that crashed by lending him parts instead of smiling and thinking you just gained another spot

You might be a vintage racer if your vintage car sits in the garage and your wife's car sits in the driveway.

I always liked this .........You might be a vintage racer if you remember when the drivers were fat and the tires were skinny

You might be a vintage racer if you wake up in the middle of the night and hear Ben Buckland say "AND HERE COME THE SUPERS".
I remember he always said that at the start of the A-Feature at SFS. It always sent a chill up your spine when they went by on the first lap.

If you still have an old dresser drawer full of BARDAHL OIL stickers ,,and maybe a few STP,,,, or Valvoline Oil Stickers, and Marsh Racing Tires Stickers or Texaco Stickers that you been saving to pass out to the kids if you ever race again....... I just found a drawer full.....
And guys some of them old stickers are worth some money on EBAY, that might help pay to restore them old cars..
Also you might be a Vintage racer if you got several old Jackets still hanging in your closet that the only clean place on them is where your Bandana kept it cleaner than the rest of it.
And you might be a Vintage racer if your find and old helmet in your garage under an old bench that has .some grass growing from it from the dirt left in the pit holes from the rocks that hit it from more than 20 tracks.....
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

Luther i got a coupe of them Ratchets that have RR and LR on them,,are you missing any..One of them has a fake water hose hooked to it so the tech guys would think it was a gate value for the extra water tank to spray the radiator during the yellow flags..
