Gary Owens pulled off early with mechanical trouble and Robert Sellers was black flagged. Brandon Jennings led for over half the race and may have won without yellow flags. I will let Michael (Thriller Video) comment on dry track conditions.

Mini Stocks winner was Ricky Botts and Factory Stock winner was Kenny Horne.

I think Lyman Sartain was in Delaneys car in the modifieds and Justin Allen was DQed in the limiteds.

That was one of the sorriest prepared race track I have ever seen and what was the deal with the mosquito killer running around the track by the time the pace truck pulled off it was already dusty again looked like a dust storm in turn 1 and 2 then you would see cars again down the back straight. It was terrible. They finally started get a decent car and fan count and now they are going to let the track go to hell

They don't want to put water on it because of the mod that flipped last week. I guess they think dry solves all torn up race car problems. I don't get it, but I have heard that Ardmore is putting on some good shows now and I am seriously considering changing my Saturday night race track.

I quess u guys were spectators, as far as a driver that limited race was a blast. The most fun I have had on a racetrack in a while, until the 33 lost all his water on the back staight, then it got a little wild!

Yeah I am a spectator, I know most people don't think we should have an opinion on anything but I do anyway. It's hard to enjoy a night of racing when you pay to get in and can't see the races, they did get some of the dust knocked down so you could see better later in the night but it still wasn't worth the money I spent. I enjoy watching a dry slick track sometimes, some of the best races I have ever seen where on dry slick tracks, but when it is that dusty in hot laps that is a different story.

I am just a spectator though so my opinion doesn't matter, I will just take my money some where else!

Nobody said ur opinion didn't matter, some of u people wear ur feelings right on top of ur shoulders and they fall off very easy. And by the way all I did was state my opinion. Sorry if I hurt ur feelings it was not intended to, and yes u do deserve to state ur opinion.

How many World of Outlaw Sprint or Late Models, DIRT modified, USMTS modifieds shows have any of you been to that weren't dry? People will pack the house every night for them and pay twice as much to watch them on a dry track. Why is that? The #1 problem Saturday was watering the bottom of the track, that just trying to make the track 1 lane follow the leader catfishing not racing.

I'm not real sure what you are talking about, I don't get my feelings hurt over a racing forum for any reason, I was just stating MY OPINION. That wasn't directed directly at anybody (FS36). I agree completely with Nix on the shows he listed and I stated that "I enjoy watching a dry slick track sometimes, some of the best races I have ever seen where on dry slick tracks" I just don't want to sit through dust storms for racing that is not very good, and Saturday IN MY OPINION wasn't very good, and the last Lawton show that was dry was also IN MY OPINION not very good. (I can't think of a good night of racing at Lawton on a dry track to be honest.)

On the other side of that, I can completely understand and respect the drivers disliking a track as tacky as Lawton was last week, it was very hard on equipment and that was obvious for everyone. What is irritating is going from one extreme to the other, the first 2 weeks this year I thought were very good. There was no dust, the track was fast but didn't tear up alot of cars and the racing was some of the best I have ever seen at Lawton.

I completely agree, it is probably twice as far for me as well but it is worth a try anyway. I had some family in from New Mexico Saturday and I had made such a big deal about how much better the racing is here compared to down there and after Saturday night they looked at me like I was crazy, I guess that is what irritated me most and got me fired up about it. I guarantee I won't do that again!

I am giving my opinion as a car owner and as a spectator. We had been wanting a dry slick race track and if they would have left it alone it would have been a real good racetrack. We had motor problems from the start caused by the tacky track from the week before. On a tacky track we are running the crap out of these limited motors and they aren't gonna take it. Now since we loaded our car after one lap of the heat race we sat in the stands and watched the features and where we were at didn't eat any dust and thought the racing was pretty good. Bottom line as a Limited car owner we would rather have a dry track as it is easier on the equipment and we ain't runnin for a whole lot of money. We will get our motor fixed and probably be back in a couple of weeks hoping for that same dry slick race track

sooooo much better when the track is tacky and the cars go fasssst! I do understand that

it can be hard on motors but I still like it best. What I didn't like was the spraying before each race.

That can cause big problems!

As far as you car owners are concerned if it weren't for for us spectators in the stands there wouldn't be a race track no where that would be open. Mike you've been around racing to know that Lanny's tracks have always been fast because of the way they were prepped. If it is hard on engines maybe you guys in the limited need to go to Ada where it is always dry and as far as not eating any dust it was because mother nature had the wind blowing the right direction

I guess not being from Oklahoma and having the experience of watching a different brand of dirt track racing all my life just ruined me. I can not understand drivers liking dry and dusty! Where I come from, if the track ends up dry, it is just a bad night and EVERYONE thinks it was a bad night! Every driver I know in that area wants it to be tacky and fast, and that includes limited mods. My best friend owns and drives a limited mod and we have left race tracks more than once after hot laps because it was to dry. Regardless of how fast it is, you don't see any more equipment torn up on tacky than you do dry down there. You don't see the quality of racing change with the track conditions either.

I guess I should just except that this is the way it is in Oklahoma and keep my mouth shut!

Well my 2 cents on this subject is, experimenting with making a dry or semi tacky track so the drivers or fans will quit complaining is hard to do. It's almost like picking the correct tire to run that night it's kinda hard sometimes. When you take into consideration the crazy weather and humidity in Oklahoma. With all of the rain that we have had this spring, causing there to be allot of moisture below the track surface. Sometimes the quick change in humidity at night can change what you have planned for the track surface. On the bad nights people bitch, then on the good nights they think it is the best thing since bread. With as many tracks that run on Saturday nights take your pick they all go through the same problem during any season. No matter what state you go and watch a race at...

Yes with Lanny we know the track is more than likely to be tacky. Last year with Lupi the track more than likely was the other way dry slick. The track Saturday night my opinion would have been a great track if they hadn't sprayed it before each feature Made it bascially a one lane on the bottom race track but there still was passing.Shane and Justin in the Limited started toward the back and worked there way up front.Don't get me wrong we enjoy racing at Lawton and race with a bunch of great guys. These motors we have in our cars have stock rods and hydraulic cams and the tacky will pull them apart. We usually do well wether it is tacky or dry, I am just looking at it as a concerned car owner who likes his cake and gets to eat it also. LOL We would go to Ada but it is even worse on a motor with it being bigger and taking rubber alot of times and then you also have to worry about tires. Plus Ada pays worse than Lanny. Just like C. A. said when you go to an Outlaw race how many times do you see a tacky track? They do that for a reason. I orginally came from Ohio and there you had better like a dry slick race track and dusty (Eldora for an example) as that is all they have up there. Just my 2 cents and wish I had an endless pocketbook

I don't understand how you guys have so much trouble with motors around here. Like I said, where I come from the track was almost always tacky and we would have it no other way. the track is IMCA sanctioned so I know they can't run bigger, more expensive motors there and the car I worked on had the lowest budget at the race track but we didn't have engine problems very often at all.

I also said that I enjoy a GOOD dry slick race from time to time. We went to the USMTS at Clinton and Lubbock this year and they were 2 of the best features I have ever watched and I would and will pay more money to see those shows. I just think that Lawton when it is dry is not very good, maybe because of the track, maybe the drivers, I don't know. A weekly dry show at Lawton does not compare to a dry USMTS, Outlaw, ASCS, late model - whatever show on a different track, not even close.

My point is and has been that Lawton puts on their best shows when it has some moisture in it and I would bet someone the price of admission that if it stays dry and dusty the crowd in the stands will get smaller. Personally I will be somewhere else the next time they have a regular weekly show, and I have talked to other people that have said the exact same thing.

My intentions on here were never to make anyone mad, I just wanted to vent my frustration and voice my opinion and see what others thought. I respect everyone on heres opinion and wish you all the best.

Don't think I was calling you out for stating your feelings about the track conditions at any track because we ALL do it. If you think I did, well sorry about that. HE-HE everybody knows I can get up on my soap box and bitch with the best of them... Hell the only one we gotta worry about is Mr.Tidbits aka Your Majesty David Smith Jr.(j/k) lol. When we get out of line or a bitchin to much he will let ya know lmao...
