Reading about this... absolutely put a knot in my stomach. Absolutely amazing. I've loved following Jesse's exploits... 410, 360, wing, topless... Mr. Versatile. He made it happen... didn't sit around waiting on owners to throw money at him. Made his own deals and made them work.
Unbelievable loss to us, the racing fans, and an even worse loss to his family. There was a long future and career for this Hockett guy.
Godspeed, Jesse.

A friend just called and told me the shocking news, it was just a couple hours ago I was reading Bill W's write up on Jesse winning three races at three different tracks this past weekend, and now to hear that he's gone, I am in disbelief, thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and his many fans.

What a tragic, tragic loss to Jesse's family, friends, and the entire racing community. One of the best drivers on the planet no matter what he stepped into. The Racing Heavens just picked up one hell of a shoe. Thoughts to everyone close to Jesse.

It was really fun having a few cold ones with Jesse over in turn 3 during the Nationals . A very approachable, and likeable young man. A great talent, sure to be missed.....R.I.P.....

RIP Jesse Hockett! Thanxx for all the memories. We loved watching you race! You were an inspiration to my whole family. You were my little brothers favorite. God needed another sprint car driver. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Hockett family and his friends.
I'd rather be in Knoxville.
